Ok Now that the G8's are all done is there any final production numbers? How far have they broken it down? I see the GXP's have a registry. Any one doing this on others?

Thanks; I'd like to see a breakdown between V-6 and GT on the 08's though.

Thanks; I'd like to see a breakdown between V-6 and GT on the 08's though.
According to GM, there were a total of 12,045 Pontiac G8s produced for the 2008 model year. The Pontiac G8 V6 sedan accounted for 5,902 of total G8 production and the G8 GT accounted for 6,143 of total production. For those of you who are wondering, that’s a 49% / 51% split between the two G8 trim lines respectively.

So, without further adieu, here is the official breakdown of 2008 Pontiac G8 production by color:

Panther Black (80U): 28.8% / 3,469
Liquid Red (62U): 20.1% / 2,421
Magnetic Gray (18U): 20.0% / 2,409
White Hot (11U): 18.4% / 2,216
Ignition Orange (77U): 7.7% / 927
Stealth Blue (25U): 4.9% / 590

Good info Don. I still kind of wish I would have looked a little harder for stealth blue but when I saw the "fire engine red", I couldnt stop myself!

Chad I wanted Stealth Blue too, but since I couldn't find one near me I chose Liquid Red and I'm happy with it. Red cars don't show the dirt and still look decent if they aren't clean.

^ True. I'm not dissappointed with the LR but every time I see a stealth, I kind of regret it!

It seems to be about a 50-50 split on the engine option, so I would say about 450 or so with the V6 in orange.

I've only seen one orange G8 in the Chicago area, so they are pretty rare.

I wanted a Stryker Blue, but the nearest one was over 50 miles away and I wasn't willing to go all the way over there. After seeing them in person, though, they are BEAUTIFUL! I wish I had an SBM, but I also love my MGM.

I had to drive over 50 miles for my car, but I got it used for $20 grand so it was worth the trip. There was a used Stryker Blue near me but they wanted $27 grand for it and that too much for a used G8.

Is there a way to find out what production number my IOM G8 is? And this color may be rare but there are 3 of them in my small town (population 17,319) 2 V6's and 1 V8.

Post 5 above indicates that there were 927 IOM G8s made for 2008. This figure would include both base and GT models, as I have not seen a breakdown between the two.

As I said earler, it seems to be a 50-50 split on the V6 & the V8, so figure approximately half of 927.

I understand you now. I've never seen any info to indicate which number any car would be out of a particular color run. Other than maybe the factory knowing, I don't think anyone has compiled this info. Also, I don't think the serial numbers shed any info on colors and I believe the G8's were manufactured in the mix with Commodores, convoluting the issue even more! Sorry, I'm of no help!

Did you get it in Cleveland? There was one on the lot around here but couldn't convince the wife on the color. I ended up buying my Sport Red V6 in Salem.
