I woulda *****in shot her.

This is why my baby sits in the garage 96% of the year. Well, that, and I'm never home to drive it.

OUCH. That would have made me irate. At least it's just bolt on parts. Hang in there, she will be good as new before you know it.

Crap happens....glad nobody was hurt. Don't get too wrapped up in materialistic things. It's a car. However, i am sorry your baby got hit.

I've got a Stryker and that makes me want to cry. I would have lost my mind. It sounds like your taking it well.

Sorry to hear about your car. You should be back as good as new as soon as the parts come in. Make sure that it is reported as her fault so her insurance cannot screw you over.

The bright side (or dark side) is another Pontiac did it.

Yes she got cited for the accident. I was thinking the same thing at least it was another pontiac. Take it to Haggerty Pontiac in Oak Lawn tomorrow and find out what the damage is. She has State Farm insurance fortunately no one was hurt.

No better time than now to throw on a GXP front and rear set up.

Yep, perfect time to do the GXP front and rear fascia replacement. Or, if you can swing a little extra coin, do the Holden SS-V front end ;)

Dang man, sorry to see that. I am sure the GXP front and rear will ease the pain.

Ouch, that smarts!!! Wonder how much damage the insurance company will say there is. Hope that lady has a good insurance company. Remember that no one was hurt, and that's the main thing.

Good news is it all looks fairly superficial. New front and rear and you should be set.

I hate "other" drivers. I am always paranoid that someone is going to hit me. Especially as often as I see people run red lights around here.

:iagree: Stupid DB was probably texting or on the phone. Better yet I would of punched her in the face. This way I can say her air bag did that to her face.

That was my thought too, although, it doesn't make it any more palatable. :(

Ow! Sorry to hear that. My last car was rear ended June of last year and then last February, which got it totaled (and into my G8 GT). Hopefully you're not injured at least. My neck hurt for about a month after the last one.

I've become irate for less (somebody backed into my baby and left no note--no dents, but a $400 bill from Maaco paid out of pocket to repaint my back bumper cover obliterates any good feelings from the "no dents" argument). Glad everybody's alright. You'll have her back to new in no time--and it's covered on her insurance! Wooty McBooty!

Appears only the front bumper and fascia and rear bump and diffuser took the hit. Any damage to the suspension or mechanical? Agree go with the GXP front and rear. If you are planning to rebadge, tell the shop not to put the Pontiac Arrowhead on the front bumper. Was the hood FU?

I know how the OP is feeling. I was rear ended by a lifted F-250 last year when my cars was 6 weeks old. Fortunately it was all cosmetic and was fixed. I am now super paranoid whenever someone gets too close to me at stop lights or when I think someone is not slowing down fast enough LOL. Be patient, she will be fixed and good as new soon.

I feel your pain. My first one was totaled about six weeks ago. Search for "Alignment Issue". D-bag ran a red light. It really sucks when you have no control over what happens to your gal. She'll be as good as new in no time though.

With all the problems on the G8 It seems like it holds up well in Accidents from what we have seen! Sorry about your baby. I would BE IRATE!!! Some morong scraped my back bumper the size of a dime and it infuriates me... Cant imagine that kind of Carnage. Hate to see a SBM damaged.

That sucks, I have been rear ended 3 times. None of them involved me having to stop quickly, just sitting there a POW! In the first instance, the passenger in the car behind had her head go through the windshield. I watched that car coming up behind me with both driver and passenger looking at EACH OTHER talking...neither one noticing they were approaching a traffic circle. The were looking at each other right until impact and neither had the chance to brace or ready themself for the impact. It took EMS what seemed like 30 minutes to stabilize the girls neck so they could move her onto a rigid strecther. Because I saw it coming I was able to brace myself and suffered no injury.

I am paranoid as hell whenever I stop and ALWAYS watch the car coming up behind me out of habit now.

Hope everything works out OK for you and your car. I will also be the first to chime in against making your car look like a GXP when it isn't (The GXP diffuser is fine by me though). The GT does not need to pretend to be a different model. It is awesome in its own right and doesn't need to dress up like something it isn't. It is not a GXP or a Commodore. Its a G8 GT and its damn proud of it. Let it have its glory :)

I like the GXP rear diffuser because it's easier to keep clean (no honeycomb). I think the GXP front is nicer than the GT for that same reason. Of course, if money was no object, I'd try to put the new HSV GTS (the white one from the E-Series 2 press photo) front on my car ;)

Agreed, though for those of us who've done the swap, it is NOT about making our GT anything it isn't...just that we personally prefer the shaping, grilles, and such of the "other" fascia more. That's all. If that's true about the nose, it's true about the diffuser too...different strokes for different folks, which is great;)

Otherwise...sad to see a hit front & rear, but thankfully it looks like a lighter one compared to some. :) for a speedy recovery, with whatever variety of parts used to do it with.

Sorry to hear the news. I remember when something similar happend when I had my Corvette. The 3rd car didn't stop and pushed the car behind me into my car. Luckily it was very minor (1st car took most of it) and a little paint cleaner took off the scuff.

I would probably do the SSV front on the blue if not the GXP bits, and GXP rear diffuser....would look great after thinking it over!

Update: State Farm is playing around authorizing my claim. I am taking the car through my insurance and have them deal with state farm. Geico took my car in an had to verify it was repairable which it is. My car is now sitting a Shirey Cadillac body shop awaiting for official estimate of repair cost. I took my car to a GM /State Farm authorized repair center heres hoping for the best. I havent had a chance to talk with them about putting GXP front and rear on my car and paying the difference ou of pocket.

Bugger. I've finally come to realise that cars are replacable, people aren't. This is my best car by far, but the one I'm least pedantic about.
Usually when people rear end me, they say "I didn't see you". HOW can they NOT see a big blue, red, or purple car?
My car has a nice big scrape on the front guard, thanks to someone in a car park. It will only cost me $500 to fix. Yay.

someone in a prius scratched my rear diffuser...really nothing...his bumper didn't even touch mine...his license plate tapped me...

I was so pissed I jumped out of the car and thought I was going to turn into the hulk I was so mad.
