Can anyone comment on the handling of the 19's in wet weather? Light or heavy rain?

Thanks!!

I have had no issues at all with ours in the rain or wet weather.

These are the all season tires? Im sure they would be perfectly fine. The real test would be snow and ice then.

19's are summer only.

One of the best rain tires out there is the Vredestein Sessanta. If you want All-Season, the Toyo Proxes4 is an excellent choice.

I just drove for the first time in a good amount of rain and had no issues to report. The car handled well and stopped without anything feeling out of the ordinary. I didn't try to accelerate real hard but everything was just fine.

I've had no issues with rain, so far. Ask me again in 15,000 miles.

So far, mine sticks like glue in the rain with 19" summer only tires.

The 19's are fine in the rain, just don't accelerate too hard making a left or right from a stop ;) there is a lot of torque in the V8, probably same issue in the 18" all season tires too.

I have driven in light, medium, and hard rain on the 19" summer-only tires (welcome to springtime in Texas). They are excellent in the rain. I have experienced no hydroplaning. Wet traction is far better than my expectations. In fact, you have to work at it to break the rear tires loose, even with ESP turned off.

Thanks everyone. Yes, I was referring to the Summer Tires.

I appreciate the input!

they were a little slick for me in the rain last weekend, my heavy foot and two bottles of wine didn't help though

I have a GT with the 19" Bridgestone RE050's. I have driven the car for 2,500 miles and they are great in the rain. If you switch the traction control off; John Force would have his hands full simply because the 6.0 L76 has tons of torque.

Many of the Bridgestone Pontenza HP tires use a multi-layer tread compound that when they begin to wear down 50% (15K-20K miles?), a new tread compound makes contact with the road that actually has improved wet adhesion. I think the under compound has a higher content of silica which is a fine sand-like ingredient that improves traction when the tread grooves get shallower.

What all season 19" tires would folks recommend, and for those that chose the option, what all season tire does the G8 come with?

Rumor has it the GXP will offer an all season 19" but no info on that yet.

All seasons suck! Just buy a set of wheels/snow tires for winter. If you want a performance car, buy performance tires and accept the fact that higher grip means quicker wear! I have the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A's on my SS in 275/35/18 and they're great in wet and dry and handle great.

Wow! I'm glad I don't live anywhere near you! :eek2:

BTW drinking and driving is STUPID (and in the rain too), and sorry, but i hope you get busted soon, before someone gets hurt/killed.
