I'll wait.....I wasn't impressed with Pacesetters on the 3800's.

Actually the GTO pacesetters are little bad ass's... So if they make some for the G8, they'll probably be pretty good. I just tuned a GTO with our S cam and Pacesetters yesterday with a few other bolt ons, and made 465/417 rwhp/rwtq from the LS2.

Case to my point, I've never seen an LS2 bolt on gto make that much with the better quality, much more expensive, Kooks or American Racing headers...

Thanks for the insight Chuck. I just think the Pacesetters will be a cheaper alternative to any other header that will most likely come out. Also (off topic) is HPE making any cams for the G8?

Most have found (me included) that the pacesetters only required a little extra attention to the install to get good results. V2 pacesetters for the GTO are supposed to be much better than the V1's I had. Pacesetters problem with the goat was cooking the rack boots and given the G8 rack is in the front this cant be a problem here.

I only wish that pacesetter would stitch the inside of their flanges prior to welding the exterior of primaries to the flange. Mig welding only on one side makes for an easily warped head flange. Mine had to heat cycle a few times before the flange straightened out....

Good to hear them posting some big numbers!

Probably about the same as the GTO's do... like 370 for the headers and 85-100 for the connection pipes. Don't get the coated ones either. I will say that Pacesetters ONLY perform well without the coating... If you hold too much heat into them the pressures get so high that they cause detonation problems and don't flow very well.

We're in the early development stages...

BTW. If the Admins see this could you please send us sponsorship information? We'd like to go ahead and become a sponsor on this board :)

Thanks,

Chuck, if I decide to pull the trigger on the G8, I will be getting with you soon after.

You and your crew did some amazing things to my 05 GTO and not only did you get great power for the money spent, the work was neat and dependable.

How long does it take you to get things together for a complete and quality tune? I mean, the car has only been out a couple of months, is your tune ready to go, or does it take time and testing? How much difference (price and programming) is the tune between the GTO and the G8?

I hate to use the word, but pacesetters are cheap and you get what you pay for. All kinds of GTO owners that I know would never put those on their cars.

Well you must not know any fast GTO's. :) I'll rock the PS headers on the G8 Anyday, as a matter of fact, I need to contact Eric to see if they need a G8 to run some test headers on. :)

Wow they are cheap on Neweraperformance.com!!!! Thats insanely cheap! Might have to pick those up. Just wish there was a bit more feedback from G8 owners although Im assuming there are very few that have them.

I had pacesetters on both of my Camaros and they worked great. Just make sure to get the coated ones. The black painted ones dont hold up.

Doh! Wish the black one held up. Thats a hell of a deal for long tubes. Did it start to flake off or melt?

I had the coated on my car. On my friends car he had the black. The black paint burned off within a minute of starting the car. Then the headers had a nice rust color within a week or so. If you are considering these headers definately get the coated ones.

I had a set of pacesetters on an older car I had, yes the black that is on them will burn off and yes they have a rust like color underneath.

I took them off and repainted them with a high temp gloss black spray and then tried again...still no luck.

IMO you are not going to see the header anyways so who cares that much about the color but if you do care about the color then you'd have to pay the extra coin to keep them coated and looking decent
