I just saw this thread over on LS1.com.au about some new ROH 10" wheels that let you run 295x30x19s on the back of the VEs. At least we know its going to be much easier to get rubber under the butt of these things than the GTOs.

ah, how excellent.

There's no such thing as too much horsepower, just not enough traction!

This is good news!

Since a 295/30/19 was fitted could a 275/40/17 tyre fit?

I wouldn't see why not - they're roughly the same overall diameter

Those rims look pretty sick. And meaty back tires only mean better traction. I think a combination of those tires and the 2 ton G8 squatting on them will make this car hook up pretty damn well.

So does anyone know what offsets will work on these cars? I'm going to be ordering rims for the GTO soon, but might bump them up to 19" if the offsets will work on the G8.

I'm probably in the minority, but I love that Morpheus color.

It's always about size with you, isn't it? Hahahaha

The factory sizes on the Commodore/G8 are more like the size on the rear of the C5/6. So, 275/40/18 would fit. The 295/30/19 is closer to the factory size than the 275/40/17. Plus, with bigger calipers than the GTO, why would you want to go down in rim diameter?

From what I've been told on JustCommodores.com, the offsets will be the same as the GTOs. The biggest differences are the G8 center bore diameter is smaller than the GTO (no problem there) & the wheel studs are larger (14mm vs. 12mm). As long as there is no part of the stud getting stopped by the lug nut holes, they should fit.

Sweet because I already ordered the 19's.

Thanks Olly, but if I see more than my normal share of VE's I'll go crazy waiting for this damn Pontiac G8 to come out......

Thanks though.....

Those wheels look rather skinny, say 8.5" maybe 9" at most . That's not any better than the GTO.

Glad to hear you can get wide tires under the G8, thats one thing that stopped me from getting the GTO.

Yes, we have these wheels in stock. Wheel sets are all ready for pre-orders.
That particular car is sitting lowe then a G8 and is using a tire wich a touch shorter then what came on the car.
