My ignition orange is coming in anyday, i looked at all the different colors at different dealers sunday, saw black, white, red, metallic gray and ignition orange.

these are my thoughts
Black is gorgeous but everyone has it.
White is classy liked it
Red was surprisingly hot!!
metallic gray was very disappointing and dull(my opinion)
Ignition orange well never in my wildest dreams did i even think about getting that color, but when i saw i said wow, it is so different and an incredible shine, seems like a color in the rain sun or dirty it will look good, and against like the 2 tone mirrors they show up real nice on black you dont see them.
anyway just my opinion i hope i didnt offend anyone, let me know your thoughts thanks.

my magnetic grey g8 is not dull and boring !!!!quite a change from my fushion orange g6 gt..Watch your speed the police love to stop orange cars .ps thats just my opinion!!!!!

.how did you guess!!!.Ive been here16years 2nd may!!!!.dont get me wrong i wanted the orange but to get the 888#192 grey was my only choice.But I love my G8.Im the only 1 in my county to have it so that special in itself!!!!!.the dealership did have a black 1 coming in ,but was not a 888...ive checked out your pics ,your g8looks great!!!!!.

i would guess you would have to pay the same in poundsfor a g8 in England as you would dollars here.what do you think????

well the uk version the vauxhall vxr8 is 35,000 pounds so thats what 70,000 dollars!! :O

My dealer just got an orange one in a few days ago. Honestly I liked the color when I saw it in magazines and such, but when I saw it in person I thought EWWW, NASTY! But I hope you like it when you take delivery.

I have one and really love it. It's filthy from the rain and pollen and doesn't look too dirty until you get up on it. It looks flat in low light which I still like but love it when the sun comes out and the metallic comes out. It was the only color for me and I like being a little bit different. It's not for everyone.

We had snow in Chicago two days ago....my wipers have more miles on them then my car at this point!

I test drove an orange one in Easton Pa. It had like 32 miles on it. I think it is still there.

Luckily it didn't stick so too early to tell. I need to pick up a set of 18" wheels/ winter tires over the summer to get ready for November...

If I know it's going to stop I actually wash mine in the rain then dry it in the garage. Much easier to get a spot-free dry on a black car then by trying to dodge the sun.

To stay on topic, I'm sure the orange will be much easier to keep clean than black...:)

No doubt it is and I already have 1 black car so no need for another even though I how it looks. The pollen and rain we are having here is making things tough for sure but it's not looking too bad from 10'

I got mine, and love it! IOM is a very unique color. I like the "nobody else has it" factor. I have always like "impact" colors.
My GTO is Yellow Jacket.
I love the way this IOM "ignites" in the sun(pun intended)!

Speedvision did a show called Test Drive with the G8. They had a pacecar G8 version in ignition red. I didn't like the color at first but I do now. I hope the GXP will come in ignition red.

Wife and I picked up an IOM GT with sport and premium packages and sunroof on Monday. We both love the color. Red is OK. I don't like it in black or white at all. I haven't seen a gray or blue one in person yet. I saw something about IOM being an 08 only color? Anybody know if it's true? Anybody know production numbers for IOM's?

I heard that as well. I believe that it's true.

As far as the other colors:

Panther Black looks real badass, but I would not want to keep it clean.
White Hot looks hot.
Magnetic Grey is pretty nice. Would have been my 2nd choice.
Stealth Blue: Me no like. Saw one at the auto show and didn't like the color shifting properties. It's blue. No, it's purple. No, it's primer grey.
Liquid Red: Nice, but I don't really like red cars. (just personal taste)
Ignition Orange: Need I say more!

I have one. Wanted it because of the one poster car and I love the color. Plus I like the idea of a one year only color!:driving:

I had a guy tell me on the internet he didn't like the orange but in person it was the best color available.

You can't go by a color based off pictures online. It's just not the same. Too many variables, camera settings, monitor settings, lighting, etc. I'd like to see the blue in person but I think the orange does look best. red didn't do much for me, black I hate, white is OK but not a white fan. Gray would look like every BMW on the road.

i love my iom. Was interested in the g8 but hadnt researched it a ton. Decided to hit the pontiac website one day and saw the IOM color thought that would be the one for me. Decided to swing by my dealer that day after work. HOLY SH-T there it was 1 G8 GT in u guessed it IOM! Well 1 test drive and 2 days later it was all mine.. We'll leave out the part about driving through a deer 3 days after picking it up. It will be back in my hands in 2 days.

I have the ignition orange and I LOVE it!!! I previously owned a G6 V6 in grey and I hated it! The color was so boring and dull.. which is probably why I went with the orange! I love it though!

One thing I can say, every single person, EVERY one, that has commented to me on the car, says the color is awesome. I agree. I told the dealer that if he couldnt find the IOM loaded, I didn't want one. (Ok, I was bluffing, but I did tell him that ;))

When I drove onto the lot, the day they called me and it had arrived, it was parked out in front on an angle, by itself, all detailed, like it was the crown jewel of the collection. It looked so dam cool! Everyone at the dealership commented on the color as well.

Even when its a little dirty, it has a deeper orange to it that still looks nice. I love all the g8s but, IOM is my color

I like the orange it turns alot of heads. Here's a pic off my blackberry, in the sunlight in person no other color can touch it.

I love how it looks different in the sun, shade, and at night. I get alot of compliments on it, and now that I have it I wouldn't even second guess my color choice. Not to mention the fact that it's the only year for it so I won't see one every time I drive down the road......Unless I'm riding around Perrysburg, Oh ;)

I'm also a HUGE fan of Orange cars, as Orange is like my favorite color.

BUT

I'm looking for a Black G8 for a reason, an all black car is about as stealthy as you can get, the only color on the outside of the car will be the red calipers and rim beads. I'm going for "You can't see it unless you're looking for it." Otherwise, IOM is my second pick.

I just returned :driving:from Jaxville North Carolina and all eyes were on me and my beauty. Problem is I only saw one other G8 GT on the road to and from the Carolinas and it was the same ignition orange as mine. Man.... what a coincidence. :drink:

I had to stop by my dealership on Friday for a couple things and they had sold 4 or 5 GT's in the 8 days after I picked mine up. They also told me they had at least 3 people stop in asking for the Orange GT and they had to tell them it was gone. One guy was apparently VERY upset as he was ready to buy it. :)

I've had my IOM since end of May and love it. Was my favorite of the 08 colors and also one of first 888 (110). It gets lots of compliments looks. Barely over speed limit yesterday and got pulled over by a state trooper. We talked a whole lot about the car he smiled and gave me a warning. Also my understanding that in northwest ohio and southeast Michigan there are only three Ignition orange cars and one of them is a v6.

I saw two IOM's at Woodward during the Dream Cruise. One was a GT and the other was a V6. I know there was a IOM V6 at a dealer here in West Michigan. I believe ours is the only IOM GT in the area.
