I would just like to make it known that Mike at New Era Performance, after contacting him regarding my engine failure, has stepped up to the plate and has reimbursed me for my insurance deductible. He stated to me that he backs his company and his products 100% and even though it was against his policies, he decided to go above them in this unforseen and unfortunate circumstance and reimbursed me my deductable. Thank you Mike and New Era Performance.

Mke, your a hell of a guy.

sarcasm? I know 2 people not including me who hasn't seen **** from him. And if he was a hell of a guy, he would pay up for the total damages, not here is 500 go away now. 12 engines at 7500 a pop and he coughs up $500, YEAH he is a good guy again.

I personnaly wish he didn't post this, because all it did was piss me off even more.

Yikes. Sounds like this could turn ugly. The situation is ugly enough as is.

Well I am calmed down now? Hate working nights, because I have to call my friend/therapist to complain. I think I am just going to stay out of NEP threads, unless mike makes things good with me, and then I will give praise for coming through, but until then, I guess Mike can rest a little easier because he has one monkey off his back.

I talked to him once asking him if he thinks his filter was the cause of it when it first happened. He said no. I fought GM for about 4 days, and did my own test and found out it was true, so I tried to call him for 3 days, and he never picked up. I emailed him and he just gave me a generic response, I told him to call, he never did, I finally asked for a refund if I shipped it back, and that finally gave me a response for a yes. And only reason I didn't ask for more if you are going to say that, is because I was already pissed and didn't have time to argue over pennies (yes it would have been here is a few hundred go away now type money), or it would have cost me more than an engine to get a lawyer involved and I wouldn't have a car.

The reason I am pissed is because he still hasn't helped anybody else out. Thankfully I was in a position if insurance didn't do a payout, I would still get what I needed.

Ok I am going to unsubscribe to this thread, because the more I see it, the more it pisses me off. If Mike wants to talk more about it, he can just PM me.

I'd think that if you were really THAT upset about it you'd push until you got somewhere that is satisfying. Rather than making post, after post, after post telling us how unhappy you are. Asking to send it back and get a refund would be just the start, if it were me. Too many people are softies and choose the easy way out and end up making everyone else pay for somebody elses mistake. This appears to be another one of those instances.

Also, if you think a motor blowing costs pennies, I'd be interested to see where your prices come from, because motors aren't cheap..! If you claimed it on insurance you should let them know about all of these other people who have had issues with this intake as well. They'll have a field day with that in court. Somebody should make those whom are responsible repay what is owed.

I'd hate to see a shop suffer financially from something like this, but they should have done a tad more R&D.. I'm a small business owner, sometimes you have to take a hit. It's part of the territory..
