: What tires come on a G8?

I've been looking (dreaming) at G8s on ebay and saw one that had Bridgestone tires on it. I was a little surprised. Then I just now saw one that had Goodyear tires on it. So what comes on it from the factory? Just curious.

Bridgestone RE050s are the standard "Summer" tire that come on all the G8s.

The Goodyears you saw are the optional all-seasons that come on the cars.

The Bridgestones are 19's, the latter 18.

Bridgestone Potenza RE050A is available in both 18 and 19", only "all season" option is the Goodyears in 245/4518

Why the surprise on the Bridgestone's? Should I be worried????

I like the Potenza's that come on the GXP's... I put a set on my GTP. No problems...

The Bridgestone RE050 that comes on the G8 GT are the same pattern/design that comes on many Ferrari's, BMW's, etc.... I have Bridgestone RE050's on my G8 GT and they run great in the wet too.

I think its a mistake to buy a great handling car and put it on 18" Goodyear all-season tires that you typically find on a front-wheel drive Chevy Impala V6. Unless you live up North where you have snow half the year, I wouldn't want all-season tires on this car.

You should only be worried if one or more of the tires are flat....

Is that a dig about no spare on the GT - cause you only would have one spare anyway. Road side assistance for 100K or 5 years. Flat bed city!

I have Bridgestones on my GP. They handle great on wet and dry pavement. They are a bit loud when you get some miles on them.

The only Goodyear tires I have seen that I liked came on my wife's Honda Pilot.

I was surprised to look at the Goodyear RS-As on a Base G8 the other day, and notice that they are a very soft 260 Treadware. I guess these are the "All-Season Tires" but I can't imagine that they will have great longevity with that soft of a compound. It should be great though for making them stick! I don't remember the factory RS-As on my GTP being that soft. Anyone else know? I always thought that RS-As were harder compound than that.

I actually work for Sears Automotive and I sell tires all day..

The Eagle RS-As are pretty decent tires, considering all the other options you could choose to replace them with.

I got the 18" Goodyear tires and thinkt the car handles and rides fine with them. The Eagles are performace tires and have worked well on my previous car, a CTS.
