Hi: I'm wondering what fellow G-8 owners are using for winter tires 17" or 18" ? Wondering about speed rating V or T for the winter tires. Also steel wheels vs Aluminum Wheels? Thanks for the help in advance

I haven't heard of anyone finding steel wheels for the G8. Alloy 17's will be cheaper than the 18's. I'll be going with the 18's because I don't want to lose the look over the winter. I'll be grabbing a set of the Hankook iPike W409. Take a look at the reviews for this tire. Highly rated and competitively priced.

I went with:

18"x8" MSW Type 16 for $119 US each on clearance.
(& $119 US for 18" wheels is pretty cheap too.)

with Bridgestone Blizzak LM-60 winter performance tires.

I got them through The Tire Rack in South Bend, IN.
It was much cheaper than anything locally, even after all the fees (UPS Ground shipping, UPS Brokerage, Duties, & Taxes)

My local tire shop could get me, when asked for the most economical 18"x8" wheels:

YKW Motor Sports EK-2 18"x8.5" for $238.50 Cdn each.

PS: Only some 17" wheels clear the G8 GT front brakes too.

I've got 17 inch also with the Hankook 409's, like Joey above. Might have to put them on sooner that I wanted to, it's getting cold quick.

Thinking about Nokian WR G2's in 245-45-18.
