So... ive just started noticing that when backing out of my driveway i get a very small high pitched squeal out of my rear brakes. I dont notice this same squeal when stopping while going forward. I have less than 500 miles on the car, is this likely just due to new brakes and it will take a little while to break them in?
Or is this something I should see the dealer about soon?

I have the same thing. Only going backwards. It's not that extremely high pitched n it doesn't bother me much. In my mind, it's a 4000 pound car so a tiny squeak when breaking only in reverse isn't so much to worry about imo

It's seems to be fairly common. Mine do the same in reverse. They did it in drive for a bit but it has gone so it was probably just brake dust.
Unless they begin to not stop very well or continually squeak while in drive I would not be concerned with it.

No problems here, but I did break the linings in gently.

No problems here either, gentle break in for the brakes at least...

Im not sure if this is it, but even my grand prix gxp is like that when i clean tires some of stuff get on the breaks and causes it after ahile it disappears.
just a suggestion

Happens in the morning for me, no big deal. Its only in reverse and I don't drive around in reverse that much. :)

mine did at first. I now have about 1700 miles on the car and it stopped about a month ago. Only happened in the morning when I was backing out of the driveway.

I'm over 2600 miles and it still does it every so often. No big deal to me. It would be nice if it didn't do it, but it doesn't seem to affect stopping so...

Ditto. At first, I just accepted it. But, it happens EVERY time I back out of my driveway. The other day I blew the horn at my neighbor/buddy and rolled down the window to talk to him. He said "You didn't need to blow the horn - I heard your brakes". :banghead:

Same for me every so often. Maybe after a rain or when there is higher humidity?
