Hi everyone,

I signed up to share a review of the '08 G8 GT. Let me know your thoughts - whether you agree, disagree, or if we should lay off the juice :D

So if this was submitted on 29 April, why didn't this guy know about the attributes of the GXP? It was at the NYC Auto show far enough in advance to pickup the layout facts, i.e., engine, trans, etc. It tends to downplay the credibility of the writer if they are not up on the current facts! Overall grade for the review: 2.5/C-!:stickpoke::turbonaughtdy_1:

I'd give the review a B+. From a profit standpoint for GM, the manual really isn't necessary on the V6 or GT, definitely needed on the top of the line performance model. We need GM to make a good profit on this car, because it needs to be around for a while for us car enthusiasts.

The voltmeter and oil pressure gauges grow on you, seriously they do...

I don't have any eyes or ears that attend the major auto shows in NYC or Detroit. Do I have any volunteers?

Basically, we have been doing expert reviews for only 1 year and are still getting established with the automotive journalism community. Contact me if are current with the automotive industry and would like to be a contributor to CarReview.com.

My email is derek-at-carreviewdotcom

I would guess you do have eyes that can read the various web sites that have already posted reviews on the internet of both shows????? Oh, and they were done prior to your review being posted! Its called doing your homework and being professional. No slam, just a little constructive criticism!

Overall a fairly good review, I thought. Same pluses and minuses of most other reviews - seems the transmission is a common complaint.

Hopefully, Holden will fix up the tranny, the dash, and the hood (sorry, the "bonnet") in the next update. Paddle shifters are just a gimmick IMO and are best left out - Holden made them for a previous Commodore and they were never popular.

Yea, the ones that bring you back to your early childhood days of playing on your Commadore 64 or Atari.

Now I feel old for making that comment and growing up with both....
