mike c 05-02-2008, 06:54 PM Wow. Nice.
hada68gto 05-02-2008, 06:57 PM 132 HP gain. Not bad guys. Notice how it doesn't level off at 6000 RPM but keeps rising. This thing could use a cam.
SOcaliG8 05-02-2008, 07:28 PM HAHA I witnessed that run.....
that car is BADA**!!!!!!
BSmith 05-02-2008, 08:21 PM What else is done to the car performance wise? Those numbers look promising.

ITS STOCK!!!!!
(for now)
BSmith 05-02-2008, 09:10 PM Thanks, just wanted to confirm.
AUSI-isf-KLR 05-02-2008, 09:34 PM Impressive numbers for a what it is. 157 hp from the initial stock dyno to the wheels is impressive anyway you cut it. With exhaust and some bolt ons and the same psi this could be a 500whp package.
Whats the psi for this setup?
tmoneyr007 05-02-2008, 09:38 PM 440 ft/lbs at 3K FAWK!!!!!
That'll get that beast movin!
SOcaliG8 05-02-2008, 09:42 PM Whats the psi for this setup?
its only 6psi!!!!!!
and theres A LOT more potential!!!!!:gears:
FYI its doing 5psi at only 3K!!!

Hey Mike,
specs looks good. I assume this is with the stock maggie program?? Full boost comes fairly quickly. Really drops off after 4500rpm. I am looking forward seeing what your magic can do.
I did chat with Pete on our discussion on having a G8 challenge between yours and petes with his pro charger. Pete already has several magazines that want to do articles. Once he is on the Power Tour, wow, look out!!.
When are you going to finish the rest of the suspension. As talented of a driver as you are, it will be important to get a front tower brace. Pedders is working on one, but not sure when it will be available
We need to have a Pedders day very soon!!
great job
mike

Naute 05-03-2008, 12:21 PM im seeing a lost of 132 HP :)
looks very clean guys. CONGRATS, great numbers, im sure with some bolt on, H/C combo, thing will be a street king.
lsp408 05-03-2008, 01:20 PM just wondering about where is the intercooler at?
4gasem 05-03-2008, 01:56 PM Awesome gains! I'd love to have a kit on mine.
What's going to break first with that kind of addition of torque and HP?
Naute 05-03-2008, 01:56 PM https://www.zzperformance.com/products_img/145_2.jpg
does it come with a intercooler like this that goes below the blower, is that already built in??? just curious...
BlownChevy 05-03-2008, 01:58 PM The intercooler is located under the supercharger.
Mr. Sandog 05-03-2008, 02:07 PM The intercooler is located under the supercharger.
Yes, people mix this up all the time (I know I did when I was a newbie).
The intercooler is under the blower, between the supercharger and the intake to the motor.
The heat exchanger (sometimes abbreviated as H/E) is in front of the radiator, behind the grille.
The intercooler cools the intake air temperature, the heat exchanger cools the water that was heated up from cooling down the intake air. :judge:
Ryan M 05-03-2008, 02:20 PM very nice!
Steve @ HMS 05-03-2008, 02:33 PM What else is done to the car performance wise? Those numbers look promising.
Pedders shocks and springs. As far as power modifications the blower is the only thing we have done so far. Headers/Exhaust coming soon...
Steve

h3llphyre 05-04-2008, 03:25 PM So, I see the power increase at the wheels... Are we accounting for a lack of a 1:1 gear in the tranny? What gear are you doing these pulls in?

yevot 05-05-2008, 10:20 PM Flywheel hp? That's either RWHP or it seems very much off. :eek2:
Assuming it is RWHP, and based on the ratio of 326:361, the engine should be making 505hp at crank, correct? and almost 500lb-ft?

thats 458 RWHP.... and about 500HP at the crank....
stock everything (exhaust... headers....etc)
Mr. Sandog 05-05-2008, 11:32 PM thats 458 RWHP.... and about 500HP at the crank....

If it's 458 RWHP then it's closer to 550 HP at the flywheel.
550 FWHP x .83 (17% drivetrain loss) = 456.5 RWHP

for some reason all of the dyna pak dynos display "flywheel HP". I THINK it might be because of the way they work....they are a HUB dyno, do the rear wheels are removed and the axle is bolted to the dyno.

The stock car (which Pontiac says is 361hp) dynoed at 326.5hp, giving a 9.56% loss. Factor that back into the new figure and 458.5 / 90.44% = 507hp

Who dyno'd at that? I haven't seen anyone close to that yet without a tune.
I REALLY REALLY want this.
JAWDRPNG8 05-06-2008, 01:27 PM I thought the cars stock are closer to 298-300 rwhp...also...automatics are closer to 17-18% drivetrain loss ..manuals 12-15% loss are they not...?? Im not an engineer but thats what the guy at the dealer quoted...

This is on the first page. The lower lines are stock and upper lines are supercharged. I think the numbers are significantly higher because, as BlownChevy said, "they are a HUB dyno, [so] the rear wheels are removed and the axle is bolted to the dyno".

BlownChevy 05-06-2008, 03:45 PM Guys, the bottom line is simple.....Bolt the supercharger on and you will see a 120 rwhp gain. Debating dyno numbers is crazy.

exactly. Same car, same dyno, same formulas, etc. The difference is an approximate representation of predictable gains.

I'm really hoping it isn't one of those "if you have to ask, you can't afford it" deals. If it falls into a certain threshold, the "better half" will let me buy it.

Less then I paid for the rock on her finger :)
In all seriousness. Under $6000 would be a nice start. When you start considering what a shop (I'm on the east coast) is going to charge to install this (no time to do it myself, otherwise I would), you're getting real close to the magical 5 figure number, which is not going to happen.
I think in the $4500 range, he'd sell as many as could be made...
BlownChevy 05-07-2008, 03:44 PM We are actively working on the parts list so we can set pricing.

Step 1: Set price at $4500
Step 2: Buy stock in Bridgestone/Goodyear
Step 3: PROFIT!

Isn't the GTO kit $6500 or so?
I don't think 4500 is very realistic.

hows that coming brian? do you guys have an ETA yet?
By the way... Are you guys gunna be using the same system (mp1900) in the 2010 camaro or a different one? Assuming it comes with a LS3...
thanks

I am shooting for a july release.
a ROUGH estimate on the Suggested Retail is $6909.00 for a powder coated system. $7900 for polished. These numbers are subject to changes +/- once I have the official parts list.
lawyerboyleslie 05-07-2008, 04:03 PM okay, but what will it cost to have it installed? And where, in Central PA, can someone find a reputable mechanic to install something like this? Any ideas?
BlownChevy 05-07-2008, 04:06 PM okay, but what will it cost to have it installed? And where, in Central PA, can someone find a reputable mechanic to install something like this? Any ideas?
my estimates would be 600-800 for the install.

I know, I was being facetious... You know, price it well below what its worth, it'll sell more then he can make...
I was expecting around $6000.

In PA, probably cheaper. Everything is cheaper in PA.

Supply vs Demand
They control supply, AFAIK they are one of two companies with a working kit. So they are THE market leaders.
As more kits come into the market, prices will adjust. Its all about them finding the perfect price/manufacturing compromise. So long as they keep able buyers willing to pay set prices.... $$$$
SOcaliG8 05-08-2008, 03:31 PM wow....$7k, I think a lot of us were hoping for something a little better. :-(
hit up Haddad when the kits are available...
mike already bought the first 15 kits...
so im pretty sure he will have some kind of deal...
(better than paying msrp... right?)

haddadmotorsports 05-22-2008, 06:25 PM Pickin up the car from Borla tomorrow at 3pm.
I'm stoked.
As far as i know we are getting it back with just the cat back on the car. They had some issues with the long tubes so I'm not sure whats going to become of that. They also made shorties but I'm still going to be on stock manifolds for now.
We will be putting one of our custom tunes on the car Friday night and the car will be at the Drag strip on Monday.
So stay tuned for some #'s
Thanks
