Picked up my car after the oil change and now I notice that at night after shutting off the ignition the headlights stay on for about two minutes after shutting off car. Previously the headlights would shut off as soon as I shut off the ignition. Anyway to change this back? Any info appreciated.

You can also do it manually if you rotate your headlight knob to the left once you shut the car off. But as GR8 1 said there are delay options in the DIC.

If you have the headlight switch in AUTO, it will stay on for what ever is set in the DIC. If you set the switch to off and turn them on manually, they will shut off right away. My GTO had a door switch that got me once that it didn't register the door had opened and shut, so the lights stayed on.. and the battery was dead. I cleaned up the switch and it was fine after that. Hopefully the switch is better on the G8.
One thing I like is how you can roll with just the fogs on during the day. I think it looks cool, makes the car seem lower than it is. You can put the switch in the parking light position and pull the knob for the fogs. The headlights will be off. I would do that when I came home at night so the lights weren't flashing the neighbors (Cul-de-sac, and the guy at the end gets everyone's lights).

Pull the relay out. That's what I had to do on my GTO when I installed HIDs.
The indicator light on the dash will still be on, but no DRLs.

Idk, I don't have my G8 yet. But, if it's anything like my GTO, there is a fuse/relay block under the hood. It should be in there. Check your owner's manual. It will tell you. then, just pull it out.

Where is the DRL relay on the G8 GT??It is not under the hood like the GTO, it is in the fuse box on the drivers side kick panel (left side), inside the car. I am not sure if anyone has pulled it yet though, I haven't seen any posts on that yet.

need4spd--thanks for the info. Tried it today and it worked. Will install the Gremlyn's Garage HID's this weekend if my Roto-Fab cai comes in by then. Other wise, it will be next week.

You can also turn off your DRLs (each time you start) by turning the light switch counterclockwise to the "off" position, then back to auto.

You can just pull the fuse and this will also disable the DRLs. As mentioned earlier, it is in the fuse panel on the left side of the driver's footwell. After you pull the panel off, the fuses are all labeled on the back side of the panel and there is a fuse puller in the middle/right side of the fuse block. Enjoy!
