Hey all, newbie here. love the site, lots of cool stuff on here. I just got my red g8 last week and love it. I was wondering how does someone know if they need the update for the computer in the car? also wondering how do i know what number my car is? and one last thing, is the roto-fab cai the best one out there for the g8? i did see the dyno numbers and it looks pretty good. whats your opinion?

If you have a 2008 G8 GT and took delivery before the April 23rd announcement of this Service Update, there is a 99% chance your car will need the Update.

Roto-fab's CAI looks like the best so far. Russo's working on their MAF included OTR intake which looks promissing.

o.k., i did see this thread, just got confused with all the info i was reading. So i got my car on 4/28, but the dealer had it for almost 2 weeks, so i need the update i guess.

and about the car number thing, how do i know which one i have? is it on a label on the door somewhere or is it in the vin#?

Your dealer should have done the updates. Check with them. My car was purchased on 4/4 and the seatbelt chime thing had already been done. Other (08150)took less than an hour w/oil change. Hard to tell if there was any diff. Switched out ECM when home, and added S.F. Axlebacks. Runs and drives great and SOUNDS KOOL - low rumble when accelerating, but otherwise, no louder than GTO.
