That's where the OP got the pic from, which then leads to the question: If the OP was claiming he took this pic, he'd be full of crap as we've all seen it before and it was a media image from when they were first discussing using the G8 for the role (as opposed to the Caprice LWB version that they will instead be using). If the OP is instead saying though that he saw one around town that was the same one as the one in the pic (which is what I think he's saying), then it's a different story. I also have a few friends that are LAPD and Sheriffs and none of them have mentioned hearing any rumblings of new style cars coming in. If I see one I'll grab a pic....
