We now have Hawk Performance brake pads available for the 2008+ Pontiac G8 GT on the website. Hawk offers 3 levels of performance for your G8. We are also working hard to add the V6 and GXP pads to our lineup.

HPS - Carbon Pad for street performance. Good for occasional track use, does have some dust and noise. wears well.

Performance Ceramic- Ceramic pad best for spirited street driving. Wears well, and has very low noise and dust (my personal favorite).

HP+ - Performance Carbon Pads for heavy track use. They resist fade well, but also wear fast and have a lot of noise and dust.

What's the difference in pads between the GT and the V6?

Can the ceramic pads be benificial using the stock brakes?

I'm running the ceramics it does stop a little better than stock, but get ready for dusting. They "claim" they are low dusting, but my stock pads could go 2 weeks before any noticeable buildup. I can't go 2 days w/o my chrome lips looking dirty.

With that said I got rid of my stock pads b/c they had heat separation (I tend to accelerate quick and stop abruptly). The new hawk pads seem to hold up better under my driving but I HATE having to clean my rims every few days.

I have Ceramics on several of my cars and they don't dust bad at all (that is kinda their claim to fame). I can't wait to get a set on my GXP.
