Just wondering what guys on here paid for a new G8 V6. I seen a couple guys saying they paid 19.5 OTD fully loaded. Looking to buy a new G8 and looking for some leverage against the salesman to know what people are really paying. If I can find this in another thread let me know and I apologize in advance. :wink2:

It varies by dealer. Some think they can get top dollar and wont budge at all and others realize they should budge a bit. I got my base stock 2008 for $20,000 even in July of 2009.

Don't get skewed by reading what some have gotten leftover 2008's for, or either year with extra GM card cash, etc.
It's pretty simple. What's sticker, what's the invoice or supplier, and what is the dealer "selling" price in reference to invoice/supplier. From there, what incentives are you taking? Do you qualify or have any additional GM card cash or other special bonuses?
Right now a base no option 2009 V6 (particularly an older invoice unit, before price increases) if sold at invoice or a little under and then with the $4k rebate instead of financing, would be around $23k give or take a few hundred, before taxes and such.
What options/packages are you looking for, because that also makes a big difference?

June 2009 - Fully loaded (Sound/Leather/Sunroof) for 21.6 CND. Don't know if that helps any, I did have an extra discount of 5% off invoice price through my work, in addition to a 1000 GM loyalty discount letter, 3500 trade in value, and 8500 off manufacturer price.

I just bought a fully loaded one (Sound/Leather/Sunroof) right before the end of the year but paid 23.5 US after 7500 closeout incentives. The production date was 9/08 so it might have sat around for a while but so far no problems (but only 65 miles). There weren't any others anywhere else and I really liked it, so I bought it -- I hope I didn't get ripped off.

Thought I'd pick your guys' brain on what I should pay OTD for this car. It looks like they want $24K (including rebates) before tax . Tax in CA is .0925 which puts the OTD at $26K. I'm use to getting screwed living in CA but I think this is still too much after reading this site with others getting fully loaded G8s in the low $20Ks and this car is not fully loaded. Comments are appreciated.
Also I was considering a used G8 GT but now I'd rather have a new G8 since new GTs are slim to none in CA. Do you think I'll be disappointed with the power in the G8? I drove the GT before and I was sold 1st time in it that I wanted one but in CA there slim to done and the only dealer in CA in Fresno is increasing their new GTs to $40K less $6K rebate = $33K(ridiculous I know). So I don't mind settling on a G8 but thought I'd hear some of your satisfaction posts if you don't mind. Also I currently have a 98 3600 GT GPrix that I'm satisfied with but getting itchy to buy something new.

I personally don't see the need for the V8 model unless I was totally into drag racing or something, but I am going from 160 HP in my 94 Intrepid to this. I only paid a little less than 24k for it but it was loaded. I like the G8 a lot but only have 250 miles on it so far. Don't want to make you feel bad, but it is a shame you didn't buy it before the end of the year as the sales tax is deductible for the 2009 tax year.

Been trying for two weeks to find a dealer to give me a decent trade value for my Solstice. I guess i have to wait 'til spring and try to sell it privately.
