Doing an LS7 engine swap. With a reasonably stealth exhaust, talk about a "SLEEPER" :bubbrubb:

I think you'd be better off getting the L76 heads ported, add a higher lift cam, add an intake/exhaust and a tune.

LS2 guys are getting 450+ hp to the wheels with intake/heads/cam/exhaust

Seem's like an awesome wife  be sure to hold onto her. The L98/L76 that will come in the G8 is a pretty potent motor in itself, with a Cam, Intake piping, exhaust-straight pipes-headers and tune I can assure you that 500WHP is possible.

Unless you really want an LS7 I see no point.

LOL...I agree with you guys. I was just blown away that she came out with the idea. She's been spending way too much time hangin' with the Tampa GTO group....lol

Not a bad idea if you have the money. I'll agree with the L76 mods .. simple bolt ons to exceed 450+ HP on the GT is more then enough for most people... or so I'd hope lol

Sounds like a great wife, but an LS7 swap isn’t like a simple yanking of your LSx motor, and installing the LS7. Aside from cost, the LS7 uses a dry sump oiling setup, which would then require you to convert back to a wet sump pickup and pan. Elcetronics. The PCM, Harness, and Sensors aren’t simple plug and play with what you’ve got. You’d have to convert to a ZO6 or new CTS-V harness, then go from there getting everything to work. Let’s not even mention the cost of that.

You’re really better off as previously mentioned, doing a set of heads, cam, and even a blower that are much easier to do and more readily available in the LSx aftermarket world.

+1

heads, cam and forced induction if you want to wake it up at a reasonable price.
