: Stealth Blue VS White Hot?

Long story short, Loaded Stealth Blue next week or continue to wait for a White Hot.

Long story, OK, here's the deal. I've been holding out for a 09. I'm to the point where I really don't care about the MY anymore since I've decided to lease again.

Continuing with the long story, I've been waiting over a month for the White one at any of the 5 dealerships I'm working with. None of them have a clue on getting the white in anytime soon.

Very limited production on the blue, so I doubt there would be anyone else in my area with one. That's good and bad.

Suggestions? My favorite color is Blue, but I'm not caring for the purple that seems to stand out in pictures. Could just be bad photography, or a bad color. I haven't seen either car in person. Of course I'll check it out before I sign.

Just my opinion, but I've never been a fan of a white car - always seemed like a fleet company car to me. So I would definitely go for the blue, IMO.

I was just thinking that. I'm going to do a smartlease for 3 years and see how it goes. With the GXP hitting the street in 6 months, I may want to pick up one of them once everything calms down a bit.

I've found out a bit of info relating the Pontiac vehicle search. Seems like Pontiac knows what car the dealership will have weeks before the dealership does. I've emailed twice about this blue car, one last week, one this week. They called me last night and said they had the VIN :boink:

They call it "STEALTH BLUE" because it's really purple. Sort of like a wolf in sheep's clothing.

I'm not fond of the way the G8 looks in white. Something screams "primer" at me whenever I look at it. So, I vote for Stealth Blue.

.. But maybe that's because it's sort of purple and I'm a girl. Go figure.

I'll end up talking to everyone before I make the deal at this rate.

Stealth Blue is a 2008 only color, just like Ignition Orange.

I think that's grounds enough to go blue. Or purply blue... or whatever it is.

Have you seen the Stealth Blue in person? By looking at the picture it does look somewhat purple but.............it doesn't look like that in person. I have some pictures of the Stealth Blue that was at the Harrisburg Car Show. This was my first choice of color but I didn't want to wait till late model year so I went with the Black Panther. I can email you some pictures if you haven't seen it yet. The files are large and right now I can't seem to get them smaller.

WHen I was searching the 888's I found one in MI, and one in FL. You can narrow it down from there because......
you gotta post pics if you do get blue!! I aint seen any decent blue owner pics yet.
Prolly cause none have been delivered yet. See above comment. BTW, one was GT, one base and I forget which.
Get the Stealth blue! Yeah, it had purple hue to it but, SO FREAKING WHAT! Get it before GM cancels the color!Too friggin' late. They canceled it over a month ago. Supposedly they only painted 18 cars this color. THree now known in or headed to dealer's hands (MI. FL, Blue Ridge Mountains), R&T test car, couple on the auto show circuit.... Max on gminventory at any one time after we started following it was 6 and they were all base. No other ones showed up later so any GT's went first day or week. And there are absolutely zero 888's in stealth blue.

If I wanted blue I'd wait for the '09, cause I have to agree, it takes a "real" man to get behind the wheel of a purple car.

its slightly more blue than purple.... but only just :D

although when i see them its normally under fluro lighting, which brings out all the metallic quite a bit.

but i'd probably choose the Stealth, only because it was such a limited run (only 20 odd made i think)

MRSCRAZY8 - I'd love to see some good pictures of it, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to like it. Should be at the dealership in a few days he said. I should find out more at lunch. I'll keep this post updated with what I know.

Don't put your name (or non-refundable deposit) on anything until you see it in person. You may like it but the car at the SAE show I snapped pics of really looked purple. If stealth blue in person looked anything like what they have printed in the brochure I would be all over it.

Thanks for the pic MRSCRAZY8. It will soon be mine! Should be in the first of next week. Now to set up my tint guy.

My deal: 30 months, 45k miles, 1500 out of pocket (first payment, taxes, smartcare lease warranty), 1000 point off my GM card, and my payment is $660 a month, selling price was a bit under 33,500. Got 1000 loyal bucks also. I figured out my payments to be over $700, so I think I got somewhat of a deal.

Smartlease to be exact :) If I choose to buy at the end, it would be the same amount of money total as if I were to finance it. And I can trade up in 28 months no problems.

Oh, BTW, there were only like 40 of these Stealth cars made!

As long as it's replaced with the GXP or something equal, it will be all good. and Who knows, I may end up buying it at the end of my lease. All that really depends on the next 30 months :)

I'm dropping of my other lease to them tomorrow, they are giving me a loaner till my car arrives. That way they will call me the min. it comes in (hopefully).

OK, I'm gonna post in TPW then I'm gonna start :drink: so I can go to sleep tonight.

Doesn't sound like a very good deal... I had a deal on the table for a loaded Orange GT for $540 per month on a Smartlease. $1000 down, 45k miles, 30 months and I got to keep my '01 Grand Prix GTP. And didn't use any incentives...

If I wanted to buy, I would have. I like a new car about every 2 years. I can give this one back and owe nothing. Try trading in your financed car after 2 years, you'll be upside down at least 5 grand.

The only thing I typically have to show after 2 years with financing is being at least 5 grand upside down. All the blood rushes to my head... no just kidding. You know the stealership doesn't give you crap for a trade in.

I'll repeat, I can buy at the end of my smartlease if I want to own the car. Most likely, I'll want the GXP, and with a lease, it will be much easier to get into.

I never leased until I got into Cadillacs. The value drops 50% in the first 3 years, so if you don't lease, your screwed if you want another car in less than 5 or 6 years. Basicly, you will always be upside down on a financed vehicle (unless you put some godly amount down) or sell it outright for what you owe.

Purchasing or Leasing, I wish everyone luck in getting one of these vehicles. I think they are worth MSRP and I'm proud to be the new owner of a K-POW GT :)

I'm not busting your chops man, I hope you know that.
But. looking at your deal, through my jaded small business owner's eyes, I just see it as not a good deal, from my perspective.
I also don't know you, your finacial situation or your lifestyle, so if the deal makes you happy and gets you the car that you want, that's great.
Just, from a business perspective, I always look at it as getting the most for my money.
As a business, it would be very common to lease the vehicle. But, when I looked at the numbers, a purchase was the better deal for me. I generally replace my DD about every 7-8 years, which I guess makes me an atypical buyer.
Like I said, I wasn't beating you in the head, the deal just didn't make sense to me.
That being said, I'm glad you found the car that you wanted!

Looking at it in "small business eyes" you certainly should see that in some situations a lease is more advantageous. Purchasing you may or may not be able to use an accelerated depreciation and take it all of via 179. Certain levels of expense for cars cannot. I don't know teh threshhold but prolly comes into play with Caddy or Bimmer. But when you replace it you have to recapture all that depreciation you took. And if you take full depreciation the first year all the rest of teh loan payments (except for interest) are no longer deductable. With a lease every dime you send to the lease company is business deductable (if vehicle is 100% business). Even in business, if you wear out a vehicle every two years you are better off leasing and walking away form a unit that will definitely be worth less than what you might owe on a loan

Yes, I understand that, but let me clarify.
I purchased the car, through the business as a co-purchaser. Since I had the equity in my BMW, (which I traded) I was not going to throw that money down the tube on a lease. Using it as my down payment, the value of the trade goes on the books as a "loan from shareholder" to the business, which will then be used for the buy out at the end of the term. Essentially, I will be buying the car back from the company when the loan is paid off for the amout of the equity I put in personally.

Thanks for everyones opinions :judge:
