So what's everyone running on a 9.5" rear wheel? I think I'm going to go with a 285, but just wanted some feedback.

Any fender cutting required? What back space?

Looks real good!

yup

I'm assuming you got 8.5's in the front and 9.5's in the rear. Are those 19's? You must have bought them a while ago since they're sold out of the 19x9.5's.

Got em last week from a local hook-up.

19's, 8.5 up front, 9.5 out back.

I'll have to double check on the back space. No fender cutting.

Awesome. Keep us posted if you get any rub. The GTO guys (myself included) had to cut or roll the fenders to get 275s to fit. Good news.

275/35/R19 is the standard size of the HSV range in Aus. With the same size being an option on SS and SSV sedans.
You should have no troubles running wider than this at all.

Is the front tire shorter then the stock 19 (245-40-19). Looks just slightly shorter then mine up front. The 275 look good on the rear.

I'm getting ready to order 285-35 for mine. I put a 255 in the rear, but, not happy with the rear look.

I have an 04" GTO with 17x9's and 275's on rear and DID NOT have to roll the fenders. Shuk WR -1's rear have 48 deg offset and are very light weight. Did lots of research....or maybe I just lucked out in the end.

G8 is not sensitive to reasonable offsets due to the large fender wells. Biggest issue with 19's is their weight. Ave. 19" tire weighs around 30 lbs. Some wheels are as high as mid-high 30 lbs. Plan on eventually installing m/s tires on stock wheels and putting the 050 Bridgestones on aftermarkets, with either 275 or 285 x 35 x 19" Bridgestone rears. At least we have lots of choices for our G8's compared to the GTO.

SFC: Yhose look great. The pic from the rear "looks" like the tire will rub if the suspension is compressed. Might be an optical illusion. Have you tested it?

Rob: The ASA JH8s in 19x8.5 weigh 24.6 lbs according to tirerack.

Definitely done more than my fair share of *spirited* driving and 0 rub.

Can you post a pic from directly behind the car? I'm just trying to see how far they stick out/ tucked in.

Thanks!

Well I went with 285's. They fit the 9.5" rears just right.
