I've been pondering this for awhile now and thought it would be cool if we started a thread on what options, color ect each of us would personally like on their G8. I know we dont know exactly which options will be available but based on the show car and the VE Commodore's I think it would be neat to see what everyone would like their G8 to be. Again this is strictly for ****s and giggles and none of these options oficially exist.

-Screen with Blaupunkt Stereo (as seen in G8 show car, iv heard that the base stereo w/o screen in the commodore is rubbish)

The stereo unit thats without a screen is also a Blaupunkt, from personal experience it's great.

I am glad to see the dual-zone climate control and heated leather. I could care less about a color display for the radio and would gladly trade it for HUD.

My Grand prix and my two Corvettes had HUDs. So did my wife's Rendezvous. But my last two cars were HUDless. I do miss the HUD. But apparently GM feels that not enough of us cared, so HUDs are disappearing. :cry:

Hey all first post. The lack of integrated Navigation is a major negative for me. The turn by turn seems really lame and I have to pay $300+ a year for it?

Does anybody know if the car will have an actual USB port for MP3s?

I want a manual trans, Sirius Radio, and HIDs. Without a manual I won't buy, but the other two can be handled aftermarket. I got used to the HIDs in my S2000 and couldn't go back to conventional halogen headlights. I never had a HUD so I don't know what I am missing. What information is displayed in the HUD?

The HUD in my Corvette ( I have also had a HUD in 2 Grand Prix-s ) is configurable – to display RPM, MPH, gear selected in the automatic trans, etc.

The side G loading is another possible display – as well as Radio station, etc.

Thanks for the pic Ray. That would be cool, not having to refocus on the dash every time you need to look at your speed or revs. Very useful at the track I would imagine.

I agree with those above. MANUAL TRANSMISSION! If it doesn't have a manual, I have no reason to replace my mildly moded GTP (3.4 MPS, AL104s, & DHP v1.0+ with totally stock exhaust including u-bend!) anytime soon. It runs 13.68 @ 101.4, and I don't plan to replace it with something that is too much slower in stock form. My left leg needs a clutch to work, and my right hand wants to be banging gears! I also hope that they will offer an interior color other than black (or black and something two-tone). I am a big fan of lighter colored interiors, and I think an orange one with taupe interior would look awesome (especially with a 6-speed manual tranny!)

Besides the manual, HUD and XM, I would love to see it come with function ram air.
Here is a wish for an aftermarket option: Once ECU programing is available, it would be nice to have 2 maps and toggle between the maps with the sport mode button.

The only option I care about right now is a manual transmission. That's a dealbreaker for me, so if GM doesn't pull through and announce that it's offering a manual for MY09, I'll likely be headed off to the Infiniti dealer to get a G35S for under $35k with the options I want.

However, if they bring the manual late 2008, I'll buy a G8 GT in magnetic grey with the premium package and a sunroof. I'll get all-season tires for the stock wheels and probably buy some aftermarket wheels as I really don't like any of the three options available right now...

So, my options wish list would be: manual transmission, more wheel choices (SSv 20" look great), Bluetooth, HD Radio, Nav.

I miss my HUD and My Xm radio, was relly use to them since my last 3 pontiacs had them.
