Is it just me? Or are those loading really really slow. Makes casually browsing the site almost painful. Before I script them out / hide them with a userscript and greasemonkey on my end, is there something that is being fixed? Seems to have been the past month or so. I'd rather not try to hide them / block them but it might come to that.

Yep, same here and it sucks even more while using my laptop at work on the Sprint Wireless card. WTF changed to make it so painful? :(

Soooooo... No input from the mods/admins? I've got a way to speed it up if anyone is interested, PM me (Not gonna post it to avoid getting banned or something lol)

Moderators don't see the left side ads because we have "Lifetime Membership" status.

On Thanksgiving, the G8 board was moved to a faster server, but that doesn't necessarily mean the ads come from that same server. Only four people seem to be having any problems so I'm thinking it won't get a lot of attention. Nevertheless, I'll send your concerns along to an admin ASAP.

Sorry man, to me that's just a cover up for a problem they might actually have with their server(s). I don't mind the ads, just the load time.

I've had the same issue too, and I am on a high speed dsl line. So its not my connection.

I've also had issues while logged in when checking "new post", I get 404 Page Not Found and

"The page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had it's name changed or is temporarily unavailable."

The 404 error started about a week or two again and happens frequently. The only way I can view posts is to logout and then hit "todays posts"

The ads load incredibly slow for me sometimes. Sometimes it hangs indefinately and I have to close my browser to even load unrelated pages.

The NEW POSTS button on the main page at g8board.com hasn't worked right in a few days. If I go to the forum index or any other page, it seems to work fine (beyond the turtle speed ads).

Im on a 3G wireless modem and after I did AdBlock, the page loads about ten times faster than it did before..
Trust me, AdBlock is the answer...

I'm not saying that it doesn't work, I use it for other sites man. I whitelist this site, The ads are there for a reason, the sponsors support the site. And I actually use the links sometimes to get to the sponsors sites when I need to get there quickly. Aside from AdBlock you can also point as2.autoforums.com to 127.0.0.1 in your hosts file, works even faster than ad block, but like I said it might be a larger issue and I was just trying to alert the admins to it ;-) Thanks for the suggestion though man.

I would recommend to the admins serving the images on the same server as g8board.com and not link to another server like as2.autoforums.com, but it might be the way it is for a reason, who knows :-)

Well thats the problem, I dont think the admin is gonna take away paying sponsors ads no matter how many people complain. However with all their images blocked, it loads faster, plus there is still a link at the top of the page to go to the sponsor page.

It would improve site quality a lot by eliminating the pause the the ads are loading. I find myself going to other sites when it pauses for more than a couple seconds, which is pretty frequent.

Hi Guys:

We have made some changes to the site around noon today. Are you still seeing slow loads? Clear your cache and try again, if still slow, else what browser and version are you using, please?

Thanks... Don

It seems to be better today. Not as fast as other sites, though.

To be honest, I've noticed the same thing.

It's gotten better...
