Who wants to give up their front stock grilles for the common good? I have been in contact with a manufactuer that I have used in the past that produces electroplated heavy wire mesh grilles. This is the same exact material used on the Cadillac V-series cars. I was going to buy the material and make a custom set of wire grilles, but he would rather I send him the stock front grill pieces. My G8 is now my daily driver so I cannot (read won't) do this. I would rather wait for the finished parts. So, if anyone wants do do this so they can be first on their block here is the website and email address:

His name is also Mike.

Thanks,

Mike

Nice idea on grilles! Racemesh has some neat grille stuff but it's also pricey. What's a pair of G8 grilles cost from the dealer?

No Idea. I would guess he gets about the same price as a BMW front end. He still needs someone to send him the front grilles.

:) ......called him, and he said the G8 prototypes will be done on Monday 6/30, and needs a local G8 to test on. Mike said that the Kidneys will be offered as new OEM complete replacement units, and the 2-Piece Lower Valance will be a simple attachement to the OEM parts with no mod 2 OEM parts required. He said that he may also offer complete OEM replacement 2-Piece Lower Valance parts for those would would prefer this route.
No pricing yet...... :(

They are in Nor Cal, but they have them for sale now, so looks like no need for a donor........

Steve, they are not worth a tenth. LOL Stay focused. Use the force Luke. No, I am interested too. Just need a price. I do a lot of Strut and other custom grilles. The pics look good.

FYI - I emailed RaceMesh to get a quote for my G8 custom order needs, and looking at the other makes/models pricing on their site, they are much less than others like Strut, Asanti, Giovanna custom grilles.

mj_duell : Did you purchase your set of RaceMesh Grilles yet for your G8, if so, what color combinations did you go with?

They change the look from sporty to an attempt at luxury. I'm not sure a "Pontiac" fits in the luxury car category. They do look nice though.
