I have a good amount of experience with tuning the 3800 V6 so I understand the concepts of DIY tuning. What I'd like to hear is how a VMS tuned ECM/TCM compares to an HPTuner custom tune.
I thought I read that HPTuners doesn't have as many options when it comes to TCM tuning as what VMS has.
I went through the same thing with DHP on the Grand Prix.....paid $300 for a reflashed PCM, then got cammed and bought another update, then later bought the DHP PowerTuner and learned how to do it myself and get even better results. I don't want to spend the $$ twice, I want to do it right the first time. I can't afford to be constantly swapping PCM's back and forth (doing CASE learns and Security relearns) to get them updated for a cat-back, intake, etc.
It would be really nice if you could buy a file that could be uploaded with HPTuners. :)
Like I said before, I just want to make the best decision the first time and not waste $$.
