Shame I already purchased one....great piece of equipment and great deal....I'm sure it does improve gas mileage if you have the intestinal fortitude to stay off the stomping, but it sounds sooooooo baaaaaaad at WOT

Why is the DRY filter cost more than the OILED filter?

Because the filter itself is priced higher from the manufacturer.

The dry filter is made by Afe and the oiled filter is made by S&B filters. You can probably find details on how those filters are made by looking at the manufacturer's websites if you are interested.

I have an Afe oiled filter on my racecar and the internals on the engine look pristine, and it has never given me any MAF issues whatsoever. We have also used S&B as a K&N replacement for years and have had good luck with that as well.

No CARB# but who cares...??? When you have your vehicle smogged in a few years, put the stock intake on for a day and don't worry about it. I know of someone on this board who had his out-of-state purchased GXP smogged w/ a Vararam intake and the station didn't say anything. :cool:

I guess that's just how we chose to market it. I don't know the reasoning behind the decision, but rest assured, it's RotoFab (and they'll confirm it for you if you want to call them).

I am still on the fence about CAI. The VARARAM supposedly puts 35HP and the Roto puts 18. I could use that 35 but cost of course is higher.
