GMPP already sells one that's available in Australia. It's a ton of money and hardly worth it once shipping is included. Hopefully they will make it available to the US.

Or SLP making a RAMAIR intake that utilizes the snouts... its just a rubber plug that keeps air from rushing in them.

and what would keep the water from rushing in there as well?

Got to think about all weather conditions for mods.

I don't know. What kept the factory RAMAIR on the WS6 T/A from taking in water?

It was printed somewhere, here or one of the articles, that according to the engineers the scoops are in a low pressure area of the hood so they wouldn't work very well for "ram air."

Nothing! I call it Forced Engine Bay Water Cooling. And the steam coming out of the hood vents when you stop at a light makes other drivers go nuts. :p

You mean the ones not already nuts from all this wonderful weather we've been having? Must make it hard to see the steam when the rain/hail/snow is flying!:cursin::err:

The Harrop CAI is an excellent product, as is the Marranos OTR displayed in this thread.
Both items have shown to produce excellent results and are clearly the first mod of choice as they provide by far the best results for the costs.
Clearly a CAI or OTR aren't technically difficult products to put together and I'm sure that there are going to be plenty of options available domestically in the US very soon.

So are they available for the G8? Or is it an Aussie part for their cars?

If it fits the G8 where to get and how much?

thanks

The under bonnet/hood layout of the two cars is so close it's rediculous.
The L98 and LS3 can both share every type of bolt on that I'm aware of.
The different frontal design on the G8 isn't a factor either.
As the L98 and L76 are so close in proportions you will not find any difficulties with fit.
The only limiting factor would be suppliers, and I'm sure that won't be a problem either.

I don't know. What kept the factory RAMAIR on the WS6 T/A from taking in water?

There was a baffle that interupted the direct access to the filter. It even had drain holes that allowed water to drip out in front of the radiator. It was not a direct air flow passage.

So wait, are you saying my heavily modded 1991 Z-28 with the L98 350 in it could technically have it's heads/cam swapped into my G8?? Shame I can't put my 58mm Throttle Body on it :/

I hope you're joking. The new Gen IV engine in the Aussie Commodores (don't have the GT's AFM) is coded L98. The TPI L98 is a Gen II design.
