Thanks for the update. Unfortunately here in the States we don't get very good coverage of the V8 Supercars down under. Last year we got some of the rounds 6+ months later. Haven't found any TV schedule for this year. :(

Yeah it's sad pickens for V8 Supercars coverage here this season. I was fortunate enough to actually attend last years final race at Phillip Island. You Aussies have the same passion for V8 Supercars as us Yankee do with NASCAR.
Go HSV Toll!

The big one's coming up this weekend 'The Bathurst 1000'! This is one hell of a race, which is held at Mt Panorama, NSW. This track is over 5kms long and is very undulating/hilly, with dips as the cars cut through the sides of the mountain. Then the cars drive onto Conrod straight, which is very long and goes a long way downwards after an initial climb. They've fitted a kink at near the end of the straight in an attempt to slow them before the final corners. It really is a daunting track and it can be compared with the great Laguna Seca track. If you guys can get coverage then watch it. Qualifying is even better as they have the top ten shoot out. The cars can below the 2 minute and 10 seconds for qualifying with a few going below 2.07. 1000kms, 161 laps, brake pad changes, kangaroo collisions if unlucky, falling rocks (okay so it happened only once, but it took out the leading driver who was the under funded privateer Dick Johnson in the Ford Faclon in 1980). I hope you guys can get! Rob

In the U.S., we don't get to watch the races until Dec. Tell me who are the cool driver's, ass-holes, winners, cool but don't win etc are. I've been watching for about 4 years now but don't know anything about the drivers. I saw on Big Pond that Boris Said was over 2 races ago. He drives in NASCAR but he's really not a full time driver, he does a lot of sports car racing though. A lot of the full time NASCAR drivers bitch about the schedule being too long...but a few years ago Said was asked what a good year would be. He said one where he got to race a car every day. I deceided then he was alright.
