: Still waiting on flip key fob...Arrrhhh!
I bought my car at the end of April. During the close of the sale, I was told the car was shipped with only one key fob - and of course, it's the non-flip one. No worries, the dealer told me Holden forgot to ship the flip key on a few of the cars and so they would just send it over with the next batch of cars my dealer takes delivery on.
That night, they said "probably within 2 weeks." After that deadline passed, they said "not sure when we're getting the next G8s in but it shouldn't be months - just a few more weeks."
I drove by the dealer two days ago and what do you know, they have a new G8 GT in the lot. I stopped by and asked them about my key, and it's still not there.
I spoke with one sales manager and he swears he can't just order the flip key for whatever reason (he said he even tried and there's no part #/no way to order one yet.) I still have a document that says they owe me the flip fob, and he assured me I would be getting one but he said he can't be certain when they will receive it.
I was fairly satisfied with my first-ever Pontiac experience until now. I just can't believe how neither GM nor the Pontiac dealer would not move earth to get me a new Fob (the one they owe me!) to keep me a satisfied, happy customer. How bureaucratic is GM these days? Is it possible the dealer really can't just order me a new flip FOB? SOMEONE at Holden has one if not the one that goes with my car. . . seems like this is a very simple thing to resolve.
Needless to say, I'm very frustrated over this. It's been 6 weeks and alas ... no FOB yet. Any suggestions? Has anyone else taken delivery with a missing key fob?

baabootoo 05-11-2008, 09:15 PM Forget the dealer! It's that they don't know it all anyway. Contact Bob Lutz at Pontiac, and start at the top!!!!!!!!
MavenZ 05-11-2008, 09:17 PM It sounds like the dealership is jerking you around. Another person posted prices and said that they should be able to order one for you. Check out the following link for more info.

Good luck!
You can order them, but when it comes in, it comes as a regular key. They messed up on a batch from Australia so now they have a bunch of regular keys under both part numbers and no flip keys in stock.
you can order flip but you still get NON flip key.... :(

To order CUT key you will need KEY CODE From DealerWorld
And tell your dealer to read document ID: 2089736. Until they order it, you're not going to get one and it's not going to get sorted out. And regarding the keys coming with the next cars is a bunch of :bs:. Never happened, never will. they just need to order it.

That excuse sounds about the same as "my dog ate my homework". Lame.:bs: They are jerking you around for sure.
BLACK08G8GT 05-12-2008, 09:36 AM yeah thats total bs man. when they gave me my keys they gave me a metal tag with numbers to program a new key for the car. So there is something def wrong with this situation i want another flip key i hate that the 2nd key is standard.

Interesting - thanks for the advice. The dealer told me they could order me another key but it would be a non-flip key. Your comments above validate what the dealer is telling me.
If I am interpreting your recommendation correctly, this will still only get me a cut non-flip key. Do I have that right? If you could elaborate a little more specifically on what I need to tell the dealer in order to get a flip key, I would really appreciate it!
Thanks!

The problem with the flip key was somewhat sorted out. They are now available in the US. I got mine a few days ago. Just need to follow the procedure described in the document # I posted earlier.
If the incorrect key comes in, the parts guy will have to call their pontiac rep to get it sorted out. Dealers do not get charged double on that issue so there is no reason why they shouldn't work on this for you.

Thanks again. I left a message with my salesperson and the GM the other day and am waiting to hear back. I appreciate your help.
GR8 1 05-31-2008, 01:16 PM Bman, what dealer are you working with? I'm also looking to get another flip for my wife.
