Hey everyone, Im new to the forum. I just purchased my 09 G8 V6 last week and so far I like the car alot. I am looking to get a CAI and exhaust but not finding very many options for the V6. I know K&N makes an intake and so does rotofab but what about the exhaust?

Anyone have any problems out of their G8?

Welcome and congratulations on your new G8. I have the Roto-Fab system and am very happy with it. As for exhaust, no system available in the U.S. The only problem that I had with my car was the radio display would lank out. Pontiac replaced the unit. Everything else with the car has been sound.

welcome and congratulations on the new g8 hope you enjoy it....well as far as the CAI you can get the Roto Fab everyone seams to like it more then the K&N....as far as exhaust you can use basically any axel backs out there for the V8 they bolt right on the V6.....you can also do a X pipe with axel backs.....i have a X pipe and it makes a difference in TQ it picks up really quick since i put it on....my next plan is to buy axel back's for my G8.......well hope this helps

How serious are you about getting a exhaust? Any system that you run will have to be a custom build. You can install a x-pipe in front of the main resignator and bolt on a GT axle-back system. That will give you a good sound, although you will likely have a noticeable drone at lower RPM.
As far as problems with the G8, so far I have replaced the power steering pump and transmission.

And as for the exhaust, I have read that the GT axle back fits the car as duffman stated, but do you know of anyone who has bought an aftermarket GT axle back for the v6 yet? I did a mild search but didnt really try to hard to find anything lol. (i know, im lazy haha)

Too bad superchips or hypertech has no programs out for us yet...or at least i couldnt find any.

These cars sound great as they are, no need to switch out the exhaust. V6 cars are a nice, balanced package. The 3.6 is a very nice engine, the car is better in a lot of ways than the GT, in my opinion. I don't think much can be gained with a GT cat back system.

My 2009 V6 has not had any serious problems. Only minor thing was the airbag being secured in the steering column because it was clunking around, otherwise a great car. Congrats with your new G8!
