Hi im fairly noob, well completely noob when it comes to wiring.

I used to have my JL SUB 12"W6v2 in a ported Box with my
500/1 Slash Series JL AMP. it sounds really good, there is nothing
better than JL, if anything kicker has good systems but let me get
to the point.

I want to put this system into my g8

I have the battery in the back that means i can run the
red cable directly in to conveniently located battery in the trunk.

My question is, The battery is grounded through a black cable into
the car.

Can i use that Same bolt to ground my amp or do i have to find a different place?

You can do it! My amp (ppi) allows me to wire both + and - directly to the battery. Most will tell you to ground the amp somewhere else, but I would use the factory ground. You could also buy a ground block, where you could run your battery to one side, and the amp to the other.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, that ground will be fine.

Good choice of equipment by the way.

Most will tell you to ground the amp somewhere else

Thats because the battery is usually at the opposite end of the car and you want to keep your ground cable as short as possible.

You CAN wire it to the battery in the G8, because its conveniently located right where the AMP will be.

wha they said. Most of my low range stuff is jl or tma. My mids memphis and I am not running tweeters. fround to whatever works.... just remember to wire to a switchable hot for your amp turn on if you are not going to run that feature of off yourhead unit. dead batteries are no fun.
