: Commodore = better slalom than C6 Corvette!

Question: What does the slalom track test measure? Is it where a car goes in & out, in & out, in & out of the cones. Or is it where the car gets some speed & does a lane change at the cones?

In any event, Edmunds Inside Line recently did a test of the 2007 Commodore SS and it had a better slalom MPH than the 2005 Chvey C6 Corvette.

Any comments? Links below..... :burnout:

In and out of the cones, to answer your question. And while those numbers are impressive I wouldn't trust edmunds as far as performance testing. The guy in the Vette could have been a total tool at the wheel. But if these numbers are accurate, to the SSV

I wouldn't take Edmunds numbers seriously either. They can't drive for ****. They were only able to do a 14sec 1/4 mile time in the GTO. Plus you have to remember these times were done at different tracks with different conditions. Smaller/lighter cars should always do better than bigger cars in the slalom, because all slalom measures is a cars ability to change direction not it's total grip.

I agree that the numbers can't be taken too seriously, but it was a Corvette. Which should trounce every Pontiac except the Solstice in the slalom. For the Corvette to be beat by a 4 door sedan, especially this heavy one, with nearly any track condition is good for the G8/Commodore.
