Saw another one today. On my way home from work, just got on Rte. 15 Northbound from the 15/695 interchange across the way from the CT Police Academy in Meriden, saw a Red G8 pass by on the southbound side of Rte.15. Not sure if it was a GT or not as the guardrail is just high enough to block most of the view of the car.

Glad to see another one on the road. Now if I could only close the deal on my Black GT sooner.... :)

I've seen one Grey G8 on the way to work, it was headed northbound on Rte.9 through New Britain as I was headed south.

I do believe though, that it was the boss at the dealer I bought mine from though, as they have two Grey G8s there, one base, one GT.

Still waiting to spot a real owner on the road here. I have next week off, so maybe I'll have to do some "war driving". :wink2:

grey gt in enfield on rt91 was me just picked up the car yesterday g8 gt 888 #493 and im in love so far. i also saw that white one going northbound on i-91 yesterday when iwas coming southbound from springfield was between exit 48 and 49 when i saw him.

Pulled up to a stop sign on Plumtrees Road in Newtown, CT taking the back way home from work because I-84 / RT-6 was Jammed. Pulled up to a 4 Way Stop Sign. Looked to my right, and pulling up and stopping was My Car. The driver was just as shocked as I was. I pointed at him, hung a left and he followed for about a mile and then turned off. First G8 I have seen on the road besides mine.

Saw a Black V6 G8 the other day while I was at work in Boston.

Any other sightings in CT from you other guys? I still haven't really had any hits since the last ones I've posted here.

They'll tell you anything to make the sale, but long story short their customer service is crap. I think I finally find one guy who's worth talking to, but he has a lot of work to do to undo all the mistakes the other two people have already done.

Less then knowledgeable hardly covers it. I knew far more about the car then any of the people I talked to. The one guy who thought he knew all the answers was very, very wrong! Nothing like being told that summer only tires are "also all season tires". His manager got a very unhappy phone call about that!

Most cars salespeople have no clue what they are selling. They are just the front line for the sales and business managers. They do the real deals.

I just picked up one from them, no issues yet. Full tank of gas and a inspection sticker.

I got it about a month ago. There was only about a 1/4 tank of gas, and you pay for the inspection sticker in the price, so it's not like they just gave it to you.

Who was your SM?

I waited to post a reply to this because I wanted to wait until the issues were fixed.

I had an issue with the trunk's paint. Without even looking at it, over the phone, he said no problem, give it to us for 24 hours and we'll repaint the trunk.

Well I dropped it off yesterday, and when the service writer was doing the paper work, I also asked if the transmission had any updates. He asked me why I am asking and I told him, because it slow to shift on high speed down shifts.

He called a tech over and we went for ride to make sure it was not a mechanical issue, which it was not. After getting back from the test drive, it took the tech 2 minuets to look it up and he told me they would update the software with the newer version.

The Service bulletin was 08-07-30-036 for delayed downshift. TCM Program K5364.7.

I picked it up today, the trunk looked awesome and the problem was fixed. They told me they have to wait for the emblems because no warehouse in the US had them. Which is fine, it looks nice without them, IMHO. He told me if you don't want us to put them on, I will still call you and you can have them.

I am 110% satisfied with the quality of customer service I received. I would go back and I would buy another car there and I would recommend them to anyone.

So to answer your question, Emilio was my sales Manager and Clinton was my salesman. Very Very happy with both of them. Both even came in on their days off to makes sure I was taken care of. Once on a Sunday, (Emilio) and once yesterday (Clinton).

I will be writing a letter to Herb very soon, best experience with an auto dealer I have ever had in 20 years.

Emilio told me one thing on the phone and then tried to back out when I went to pick up the car, sadly a scene was made to get results, but it was effective.

It is funny you say that. There is always one person in a business that seems to be a problem. He was more than great to me. Now when they were Barron Chevrolet, the CS was piss poor all around, sales, managers and even service.

There is only one person, that I can see that is still left over from the Barron days. He works in service. Him and I had a large blow out about their (Barron) people stealing my tires off my new Z28 before I took delivery and tried to cover it up. Long story.

It's funny, that was 11 years ago. Every once and a while, I went up there for service. Every time he sees me coming he runs the other way and lets someone else deal with me. Which is fine with me.

Roads are notoriously bad in CT, and especially 95. 95 sucks through CT.



As for the storms, my GT did quite well both today and in that last storm. Never got any more out of hand than anything else I've driven. (Had a BMW before in Germany, but they never got snow like we do, oddly enough)

Do any GT owners in this area (Conn., Mass.) wanna switch tail lights for the red tail lights on the V6. Holla at me if you wanna.

There is a used 08 Ignition Orange (same as mine) at McDermott Chevrolet in East Haven, CT. It has 19,000 miles on it and word is you can buy it for less than 20k.

Considering I paid 31k for the same car nine months ago, I'd say that's a pretty good deal.

Hell, another $6500 for a custom turbo system and you've got a 500 hp M5 killer for under 30k.

Let me know if your interested in it, I'll give you the details on the dealership.

Gallagher Buick/Pontiac/GMC (my dealer) in New Britain has a great service department as well.

Saw a red G8 GT heading eastbound on Route 2 near Colchester, CT today around 4:30PM. Older gentlman driving it, cruising in the right lane. Just made me want one even more. Usually if I want to see one I'll have to cruise past a dealership. I won't lie, I've purposely have driven longer distances so I could go 'visit' the specific car that I hope will end up in my garage someday.

They also ripped me off on the extended warranty which I should have never even gotten, by the time I get all my work done they probably wont cover anything. I think I saw him there, of course he gave me the line of "oh I was going to buy that car myself if you hadn't come in" yeah, right! Yeah, the stone walled me on the price, but I got more for my trade then I thought and I got the spare tire (finally). Though one would have thought I kicked the guy between the legs when I required a spare.

Hey Rob, sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. I spoke with Ben Sullivan, the Internet Sales guy at the dealership there when I bought my car. He's a great guy, straight shooter, and doesn't give you crap. Not sure if he's still with them, but it's worth a shot.

Gallagher does have G8s on their lot, they're a smaller dealer though, so they don't have a lot of them. Last I knew they had 3 or so on their lot, Silver GT, Grey Base, and one other.

You can add Silver M6 GXP to New Haven County, CT. Loving every minute of it.

You need to find the right dealers, or don't let them boss you around. If you're near the Hartford area, I can tell you Gallagher are very straight people, they don't try to boss you around, and they're very fair with their pricing.

Yeah, Gallagher is great. I actually bought the one that the boss (Mike Gallagher) was driving last May. They're a great dealer, will work with you, and they don't gouge or anything like that. They're in the business of ACTUALLY selling cars, so they WILL deal with you.


They're also staying in business (they got the word this week that they were "chosen") so that should ease your concern.


AND they have a 6M GXP MGM in their lot! 2 GTs, one Liquid Red and one Sport Red, and also a Liquid Red and Sport Red V6.

I've seen your car like 3 times already, haha. The first 2 times it was going the opposite direction on the highway. Last time was at a gas station on Rt. 5 in Wallyworld. I was gonna pull in, but I was in a hurry.

They haven't said anything about my intake or axlebacks. Never made a peep about getting the warranty work done on my control arm...

I do return the tune to stock however when bringing it to them on occasion.

I plan on getting the VMS Stealth Tune shortly. I definitely won't be able to hide the long tube headers when I throw them on.

Spotted a red G8 GT at Wal Mart in Groton, CT yesterday.

I've seen about 4 going I95SB through New Haven. I live right near Bob's Pontiac/Buick/GMC in Milford, so I occasionally see some G8's going to the dealer there. I also see a PBM GT occasionally going I95NB from Stratford to Milford on my commute - it is an old guy who wants nothing to do with me.

I've also seen an orange GXP on the Post Road in Milford once or twice. It's funny that I can count all of my G8 sightings on my two hands since I bought mine in April.

I do see the 2 PBM GT`s and 2 White Hots in the area not including mine also. One guy seems really cool. Another younger dude with his White Hot seems like he doesn't want to bother.

I keep spotting a MG G8, I believe is a GT around town here in Woodbury from time to time. Possibly a base V6. Spotted sometime this week, I think Wed on Main St.

Saw an orange Holden badged V8 this morning on Rt. 2W going into Hartford, with Kansas plates. Looked heavily modded, and quite far from home.

De-badged SRM parked on the Milford green tonight, plates looked out of state, didn't get a chance to see where. Maybe Mass. or Ohio.

Spotted a MGM G8 with Mass plates (Don't know if it was a gt) and custom wheels (black/grey) in Ludlow parked at a bank. First G8 I have ever saw in the wild in mass and only onen of the few anywhere lol.

Lol just found out this was GEE ATE's car... nice looking car. Love the rims.

Was getting off 95s, exit 40, pulled out in front of a Silver GT. He was behind me for about 1/2 mile, when we gave thumbs up, and turned in opposite directions.

Spotted a 2008 IOM G8 GT on my way into work this morning. We both stared at each others cars as we drove by. Was on East Main in Meriden going over the bridge over I-91.

That was me in the salted-up PBM going the other way. :wink2:

You won't see too many in CT even less since it's winter and most people in this state can afford to have a winter beater. Well everyone except me of course! :(

I've received multiple thumbs up from Mustang guys but none from the Chrysler crew. Honestly i'm surprised that the Mustang guys do. I know that will change after the 5.slow returns to the Ford lineup next year.

Only recently moved to Somerville. I've had the G8 since August.

Saw a dark red (not sure on color code maybe spice red??) GXP in medford/everett mall in front of petsmart driven by a MIDDLE AGED+ LADY and threw me WAY off.

It actually looked like she was checking out my car while I was backing out. Her GXP was in excellent condition and either was very new or not driven much.

We have a GTO meet in late spring early summer in Newport RI, right on the ocean, maybe we can get together and have a GTO/G8 meet, we typically get 75-100 GTO's when the weather cooperates

I believe that was me on both occasions, but it wasn't my G8, I was driving/tuning a customers G8 from out of state. Nice cam/converter/header combo.

I just started driving my orange G8 this weekend though, now that we have some decent weather. Went to the casino in it yesterday, it was a beatiful day for a cruise!

I'm definitely in for this meet! Is there a date yet? Would be nice to meet you Rob and you too Ed. If I can get away with it I'm planning on doing ARH LT, a Powerbond UD Pulley and possibly some Pedders.

I can definitely do the meet in May. I'm originally from Westfield and it would be nice to visit. Would definitely like to head to New Haven too to see Ed's shop.

Yup that was the time! I work at Sikorsky and get off that exit every day. Your car looks good with the tints and the 19" stock wheels! I have a MGM with the 18" wheels and dark tints like you.

It depends on what time you are getting on 15! Looks like you were heading North bound past the Bridge so i wouldn't see you if you were going that way. Anything further south maybe. Yp the G8 is my daily driver, 41,000+ miles on her now :whine::(:cursin::cursin::cursin::err::cry::embarr assed::rant::banghead:
