How many are trading in their goats for the G8? I personally am not, just curious as to what this will do to the goat community

I'm not gonna be trading mine in. I'll probably just sell it. Then save up for the G8.

Well, in that case, then yes.

If yours is a stick, I got a bud looking for your car :P

Really? We may have to talk. There are a few minor circumstances I have. But, like I said, we can talk about it.

Not I. The G8 will be the GTO's playmate. But, this is why I'll be waiting until early spring 2009 to order my G8 (and getting it by late summer)...

I'm going to try and keep the Goat and then try to convince the wife into getting a G8 for "Us".

*cough*cough*Us*cough. Right. If that works, you should write a book. :gr_jest:

The GTO isn't going anywhere. Depending on how the G8 is priced/optioned it will be an additional car.

I plan on trading my Goat ... but I will take a hell of a beating on trade in value. Oh well, that is the price of having fun.:driving:

trade it in / end of my lease and get a G8...depending on when the G8 hits the streets in the US

Maybe but I'd rather have it as a second car.

I'm gonna wait until I can drive a G8 then decide. The goat is pretty much perfect for me, but if the G8 has more power and is lighter it might be a tough decision.

The G8 is gonna be better for me. If friends want to ride, 3 other door to enter through instead of 1. Power will be there, plus more from various horsepower stores on the web. Lastly, a better IRS for less camber change when launching at the strip. Plus, more room for bigger wheels/tires. :gr_devil:

Considering it's the only vehicle I own.. probably, yeah. Eventually.

Kind of depressing, having lusted after one for years and already talking/thinking about getting rid of her... :\

Keeping the GTO. G8 would be a DD, if I can justify the expenditure and fuel economy is reasonable.

'family car'

Same thing I was thinking. There would be no question about getting one if it was AWD.

My GTO has been a great car and I look forward to the next 18 months with it before my lease ends, but with a 2 yr old and another on the way, the G8 is going to work better long term.

We typically keep vehicles 10+ years, and the G8 will serve the family better. I will be very happy driving it until 2019! :D

I wont be trading my GTO in, but I may have found a daily driver for a few years from now once I put the GTO down to summer driving only. I eventually want the GTO to be the fun car, and the G8 will be great daily driver and can easily tow people around.

I'm picking up a cheap 04 GTO this week and plan on trading it in for a G8 in a few years.

Same here. I have so much invested into the GTO, I think it'll be a LONG time before it leaves the stable.

I'm planning to buy a used one , if resale value is low on the G8 I will add it to my GTO. If not then who knows.

I'm excited by what Pontiac is doing with the G8, but I won't be buying one.

This is kinda how I feel. I hope it's a big hit but I won't be getting one..

I want to make it my wifes next car, but she is a horrible driver and I just wouldn't be able to give her something like this. She has a hard enough time with the Grand Prix.

I don't think I will trade unless I really love the car when I drive it. Ideally I'd buy one to compliment the GTO.

'family car'

That's how I convinced my wife to buy the SS. It is a 'family car' with a big V8 for, you know, fun!

I was really looking for a 4-door a year ago when I decided to go with the GTO. I'd recently returned from a trip to Australia and figured I really wanted a Commodore Club Sport. The GTO was the closest thing I could find. Now that I've got it, I can't imagine letting it go. I'd still consider a G8 if I like it as much in real life as I hope I do.

If I decide to get the G8 I'll probably get rid of the '96 Corvette. (It will be a great car for somebody - still has only about 9,000 miles...)

Actually, I took some measurements and I could stuff another car in the detached garage if it came to that.

So many cars, so little time....

If I had more money and more space in the garage, I would love to keep the goat. Only room for one, so it's gonna have to go.

I haven't decided what I'm going to do with my GTO, yet. I just don't want to get rid of it and then 25 years later see it on Barrett-Jackson going for $85,000! A mistake many people from the muscle car era made, simply because "it was just a car, back then." And I know a lot of people on here might think that the 04-06 GTO's won't amount to much in 25-30 years because they weren't a hot seller or what have you, but I think they might be wrong. Dunno... have to wait and see.
