Before I retired from drag racing, I used to campaign some pretty fast 3800 FWD cars. Here are a couple videos of two of our flagship cars drag racing and setting records. :)

The first is a video of my 2000 Bonneville SSEi, which was actually my daily driver for 70,000 miles. This was the first Bonneville to run 14's, 13's, 12's, 11's, and finally 10's. I retired it three years ago, but it still holds the record as the world's quickest and fastest FWD Bonneville with a 10.71 seconds @ 125 mph in the quarter mile:

The second is a video of my 1998 Grand Prix GTP, which I retired last year. This was the first 3800 FWD car to ever run 10's, and is still the third fastest one on the planet with a best of 9.49 seconds @ 151 mph in the quarter mile:

Now everyone will know why I seem to have such a penchant for horsepower. :D

I've been following Intense for YEARS now. I really wanted to mod my '98 Olds LSS S/C daily driver, but never got around to it.

were these full weight vehicles?
No. Both cars were lightened for drag racing, but not to the extent that the fastest 3800 FWD cars of today are. Official race weights were 3,255 pounds for the SSEi and 3,035 pounds for the GTP.

Wow. Pretty cool.

.. Do they make drag slicks for FWD cars?

Do they make drag slicks for FWD cars?
Good question. :)

Yes, they do make special FWD drag racing slicks now. These typically have softer compounds and weaker sidewalls than RWD slicks. But before these were available in a nice assortment of brands and sizes, we used to run motorcycle slicks.

I got the opportunity to take a ride in the Turbo car just after I started at INTENSE. What a ride. Nothing like standing in the floor board resting against the roll bar doing a 3rd gear pull. We were covering real estate at a very efficient rate.
