i bought my 2008 v6 G8 in May with 380 miles on it , so ive had the car for 8 months now .. but i started noticing white spots on top of my engine so i called the dealer asked them to check it out , they told me its oxidation to bring it in .. i did all they said was there gonna clean the engine , but i told the lady if it turns into rust im bringing the car back and getting a new engine put in my g8 .. i really think its corrosion .. anyways has any of ur g8's had this problem ????? and ima doing the right thing letting them clean my engine or should i just ask for a new engine be put in?

Well the intake is aluminum as well as the heads and block so rust shouldn't be a problem. Aluminum does oxidize and gets kind of chalky but it should impact performance and I highly doubt you'll get a new engine out of them for it.

AL oxidizes when it gets wet, its normal, it can be polished to a shine after the fact, but we're talking about an engine, so who cares?

Get some Boeshield T9. It was invented by Boeing for protecting aluminum planes from corrosion.

Very popular with owners of motorcycles for avoiding AL oxydation

Not affiliated, just a happy customer.

No. But I would not worry if it did. I tend to worry about important things. ;)

It happened to mine, everything from the intake to the oil filter cover is spotted. It's really just to much work to polish something no one will see.. You could always just install the Australian aftermarket intake manifold!! If it fits?

Yup. I know it doesn't affect the performance of the engine so I disregard it.
