Hey everyone,

Picking up my brand new G8 tomorrow and wanted to see who else in NJ has one and if they were planning on going to Pontiac day at Raceway Park at end of June.

I'll be there .

im thinking about going. im down by atlantic city i want to see some more people post in this thread so we can get a meet going.

More specifics please. I'm in NNJ. Where's Raceway Park? Will be be able to drive on the track?

Raceway Park is located in Englishtown, NJ right off of Rt.18.

Anyone not familiar with it, the NHRA actually visits Raceway Park yearly and does real racing, so you know its a good track. I am 23 and been going down since I was little with my dad. I went to Pontiac Day for past 2 years, and it is a BLAST! They have a car show and also drag racing. Usually they have Corvette racing there as well, but its a great day to go. Last year first place in drag racing won $250 I think. I got second place (in a 95 grand am gt) and won $100 plus a trophy. The car show is really big with a lot of classic cars coming down but also some modern ones. My dad takes his 91 firebird formula show car. And yes, you can drag race. Pontiacs only in the drag racing. The track is gorgeous and there is nothin like coming under the tower leadin up to the starting line :)

It would be really cool if a bunch of us could meet up down there when they have Pontiac Day and beat up on some GTO's, Solstices, Grand Prix, and Trans Am's

People from PA, NY, and all over come to it. Good cash prices, big ass trophies, lots of food vendors and a good time. I am also thinkin about going down when they have Pontiacs vs Ford, or Detroit Muscle vs Imports

I live in S.Jersey ,08 Blk. Gt, Prem. Sport pkg with sunroof. I've ordered Magna flow Catbacks and Rotofab CAI . I'll be doing before and after dyno results on a mustang chassis dyno. The installation and dyno pulls will be done at Fonse Performance in Erial , NJ . They are also a dealer for Procharger , hint,hint.I will post the before ,and after installation results.

you should come to raceway park for pontiac day so i can check ur car out and see if i like it lol then i will buy same parts and install :)

Going to be a tough choice at these events on which car I bring. The bird is in need of some love so maybe I'll leave the G8 at home. We will see.

I am trying to head to Island on Friday actually to run the car. It's a pain for me to get to Etown with Rt 18 traffic after work. Hopefully I will get some decent numbers out of it.

I am at 485 miles so far and I look forward every morning to driving the car. I used to HATE driving 45 minutes to work. Now I still hate driving 45 minutes, but love driving the G8 for 45 minutes if that makes any sense lol.

anyone going to the EFI GM series next Sunday? GM cars only! Thinkin bout takin the beast and getting some runs in.

Those that are in central jersey, we should meet up one weekend at a pep boys or something. last sunday a bunch of ricers (and yes they were ricers) were all hangin out wit there RX-8's with lambo doors, some kid had a bright blue civic, another had one where the license plate in the back was molded to fit sideways. They didnt even look at my car since it was american and didnt look like ****. We should have a couple G8's meet up there.

I'm in South Jersey and am up for a meet somewhat relatively close. Dugeman you in Gloucester Township cause i'm in blackwood and haven't seen any g8's on the road.

rutgers university, idk if you know where that is but its central NJ. I went to school at Rider U in lawrenceville and it was a 40 min drive there.

nike there is no central jersey, it's either north or south. I believe exit 7 on the turn pike is the cut-off. I went to Monmouth U for a year and had friends go to RU in the cook campus so ur about an hour from me.

Here's the break-down:
Exit 7 and up is N.Y. and exit 6 and down is Philly. Jersey has no existance. Mostly my entire area, including myself, moved here from Philly which is what New Yorkers did in North Jersey.

I actually like Atco a lot...especially since they let me run the bird with no roll bar. Etown is nice for the big grandstands and all that but I go to a track to race, not look at the scenery. I get more runs in and usually better times going to Atco or Island than Etown.

Yes, Etown is a "nicer" track then Atco, but no way is it a better track. Anything but.... I will never go to Etown for T&T. Only thing I go there for is my races a few times a year. Etown is gay for so many reasons.....

This weekend, Sunday, is a GM RWD Muscle Car Shootout. Only RWD GM cars are allowed. Car show and racing. I will be there.

But PONTIAC Day at end of June is an AWESOME event and I would encourage everyone to go.

I live in Tenafly, NJ. Love having the G8 where Bimmers are a dime a dozen.

Panther 2 will be at Pontiac Day ,ran 13.72 @104 June 6 at Atco , 91 deg. 2.06, 60'spining tires thru 1st. . Looking forward to see what it will run with cat backs& roto fab cai.

Going to the stock appearing drags also tomorrow at Etown - have to test the car with the new exhaust set up - gotta get it ready for Pinks at the end of July. Weather seems to be okay for the morning session.

I really need to get the GTO tune setup - too many changes on it. I found my spark max threshold saturday running her. So now it is time to work the fuel into the equation - she is running a bit rich.

yo, northwest jersey checking in pretty late. Budd Lake NJ is where i live, but im quite often in piscataway cause thats where my gf lives. i dont think anything exists up here in budd lake except mountains, lakes, and deer, especially not g8s.

I contacted you about getting some Pedders suspension done, but never got a response :( So I bought headers instead :)

Spotted a Red G8 with Tint all around parked on an ground-level outdoor office building lot in Trenton today. Lot was crowded so I couldn't see much more of the car than that...

Anyone???
