: ECP Auto Armor Protection Package?

Anybody know what this is exactly? The dealer I bought the car from said that the Armor Proction Package consists of a paint sealant, underbody rust protector, and interior protector.

I tried Googling it, and came across their website, but it all looks a bit hooky to me. I purchased the package on the up sell being the dummy that I am, but I am really feeling bad because I can't find much info on it.

How long does it last? Is it really a "clear coat" for your "clear coat" as my dealer said? They also claimed it would help prevent rock chipping, which made me consider it.

Did I screw up here and waste $500, because as far I can tell, the interior looks Armor All'd, I see no noticible difference on the exterior, and I can't tell if they did anything to the under body.

Just looking for some input.

Thanks!

Yeah, I kinda figured. Stupid mistake - first time new car buyer. What really pisses me off, is that I have a strong suspision that the rock chip that I found on the hood came from them when they road tested the vehicle. I had them check the front end for vibration issues when I dropped it off to get this "protection package" installed. I'm about 99% positive that I would have noticed the chip - kinda hard to miss on Panther Black.

I can't prove it now, but damn well better believe that I am snapping digital pics of everything the next time I drop the car off for warrantee work.

The dealer said they will fix the chip before they apply the ECP goup. The sales guy told me that they didn't do the hood because of the chip, but I have no idea of knowing. My guess is is that they will do a lousy job on the touch up, and not put ECP on the hood and tell me that they did.

What I find suspicious about the whole thing, the sales guy didn't mention the chip until after I was like "WTF is THAT!?!" His response was - "Oh yeah, the guys said they found a chip on there, and they couldn't do the hood." Right. I never got a call, which I would have expected if that was the case.

I'm done ranting about it. It's one thing if I did the damage - I've go no room to b*tch, but if the dealer did it and tried to hide it, that pisses me off.

The dealer is located in Des Moines, IA.
