So, the pontiac arrow on the trunk, is it just a stick on? Removable using the same simple methods as the pontiac/gm badgelets? Or will it leave holes? I wanted to remove it but I wasn't positive and so I scared myself out of it. I don't want holes. Has anyone done it? Whats the word?

Thanks in advance

ive heard it has a center hole in the trunk lid and a peg on the arrow, so i dont think you should do it. plus it would be hard to tell people its a pontiac not a awsome BMW.

You heard wrong - all the rear emblems are stick on. The front arrowhead uses pegs in holes, however.

The emblems aren't that bad. Besides the GM badges on the side (which aren't SO bad I suppose) the only other one I don't like is that damn dealer decal on the rear bumper.

Anyone got any tips for removing those stupid things?

I have the dealer do it!! I tell them before I sign anything that I'd like another $500 off the car unless they take all of their stupid badges, license plate holders, etc.. What am I a city bus that has advertising on the side of it......they have to pay for that you know!

Oh and make sure they don't keep trying to put it on when you go get service done. I won't roll out of there until they take off that crap.

It's not that hard to pull off letters on the back trunk, like the word "Pontiac", or G8 or GT if you prefer. They are all stick ons and can be removed with some dental floss and a hair dryer(another thread has this all laid out). The dealership stick on letters can be removed with a hair dryer and peeled off. I took both the Pontiac letters and the dealer's advertising off my trunk. It looks 1000% better.

I had my buddy who owns a body shop pull the dealer emblems and I think I'll be removing the "pontiac" on the back as well. It isn't balanced well. I'm leaving the rest of the badges, I think. I may pull the chicklets on the side, who knows. I like the 6.0 litre badges from Australia, but I don't think they're worth $150 to me.

Lots of links in here for "debadged" G8's (all are stuck on)

Yeah I searched before posting and went through pretty much all the debadging threads onsite, but at the end of the day I got conflicting arguments about the actual arrow itself, and couldn't find a picture with it gone. I knew the letters were stick on, and those are gone now, but I wanted to make sure before I went at the arrow.

Thanks all.

i'd honestly leave the arrow head.

i'm not a huge fan of the lettering, but i think the arrow breaks up the otherwise plain rear quite nicely.
