So I was looking at the corsa exhaust for the v6 and was wondering with a lil tweaking, welding and adding pipping could the Camaro v6 exhaust be adapted to our G8's here is a video of the exhaust, would welcome any exhaust specialist to add comments.

The thing that seems to make it complicated with V6 G8s is the room in the tunnel if an x-pipe needs to be installed.

well no sure about that the video states the x-pipe is within the resonator, so i guess that takes care of that problem.

I talked to a couple guys there last week and got the same "since its out of production we probably won't make a exhaust" answer. Good luck trying to rig one.

There might be some hope with Doug Thorley though, I think I talked them into making headers..

any chance you can talk to them in making long tube headers, how exactly did you do that by that way. please fills us in with info.

I just emailed them.. I told them that I wanted to arrange a group buy for a set of headers and provided links to the threads on here to show how many people were actually interested. But first, the JBA and DT headers for the Camaro are very similar, and I'm fairly certain we could bolt them on our cars with minimal fabrication. I'm going to order a set and try them out, hopefully we won't even need to arrange a group buy for a custom set.

sounds good, good luck being the Ginnie pig on this one, i hate that there is really no other options, i rather have long tubes but if this works would have to go down that path to.

I got quoted at the local speed shop here for 1,100 for a custom set of long tubes. If we can find enough people who would be interested I can stop by later this week and try to get them cheaper with a group buy.

hey i been digging info on these shorty headers by JBA and i wounldn't waste my money on them, ive been hearing from the camaro v6 guys that there dyno sheets with this headers barely make a difference and others say it sounds better but for the most part the dyno sheets dont lie.

in the other hand duffman you should look into the bbk phastek longtube headers for the v6 camaro im really excited about this i called the shop and they said they will be out the 1 OF MARCH, THE HEADERS claim to make 33 more horsepower and they are going for 700 with shipping. i called jason at phastek today and he said he will try to find out if this are compatible with our v6 g8. so im expecting a call this week, and for w/e reason if they do not work he said that american racing headers could be working on some v6 headers. my money is on the bbk headers i know they have to fit i may just buy them myself so i can know for myself.

I just went on youtube and heard the Corsa exhaust on a V6 Camaro and it sounds awesome. Probably one of the better exhaust sounds for a V6. It would be great if there was a way to adapt it.

Even though the motors are the same size, the chassis layout is different in the Camaro so the headers probably won't fit. Same goes for the Corsa, even though the V6 motors are the same size the chassis aren't the same.

well thank you for pointing out the obvious, but do you know for sure ?? ohh are you just going by a hunch ?

It's just an educated guess. Even though the GTO is made by Holden the GTO headers don't fit the G8, so more than likely the Camaro headers won't fit either.

thats a good educated guess but not valid when you compare a left hand driven vehicle to a right handed vehicle. but in all i appreciate your opinion and value your info but we are really pulling for this one and cant seem to get much interest.

The GTO, G8, and Camaro are all left hand drive. Besides the headers from the V8 models aren't interchangeable, so that leads me to believe the V6 models aren't either.

yeah but they aren't technically the same engine the gto and g8 gt, as compared to the v6 camaro and g8 v6 which are similar. Holden headers wont fit onto American cars because of the different measurements due to the steering system, also i wasn't expecting the camaro v6 corsa exhaust to be a direct 100% bolt on to the g8 v6 ,but rather that it would be good enough to apply and modify it a little so it can fit.

All 3 of those cars have the same engine block based on the LS V8. And I'm not taking about Holden headers, I said the GTO and the G8 are made by Holden, yet they are different cars. The Camaro is different too, even though it has a variation of the G8's Zeta platform, it's still not the same car since the chassis components are slightly different.

Well im done arguing you might be right, and yes you do have all the answers, but getting back to the topic it doesn't hurt to keep our fingers crossed and hoping for it to be compatible with our cars.

I'm just telling you what I know in regards to the differences of the G8 and the Camaro. I'm not arguing with you, you just seem so offended by what I have to say. I hope they fit too, but you shouldn't get your hopes too high if you understand my reasoning.

Any word yet from phastek?

I received a call yesterday from phastek wont know till March when the headers are expected to hit the shops, details on fitting to come......
but hey have you got your pulley yet any idea on the install?

Hopefully I will be installing the pulley tomorrow morning. If all goes well I'll have some great reviews to post on here!

sounds good i really want to add some power to this lil beast, i hope it all goes well might be doing this next. :)
