: 10" Rear Wheel ....anyone do it yet?? Torqued Autosports is gonna make it happen!!
GTXgp 05-20-2008, 09:35 AM Well, this weekend Torqued Autosports in Irving, TX is installing a Pedder Track II system on my car. We are also ordering a nice set of 20s to go along with it.
I have heard lots of debate and discussion on if a 10" wheel will fit in the back, but I don't think I've seen anyone do it yet. To me, nothing says RWD & MEAN like a deep dish big-lip meaty rear wheel/tire combo. Torque'd is going to get a 10" rear wheel that they guarantee to fit and I can't wait to see the results.
20 x 8.5 F -- 245/35
20 x 10.0 R -- 285-30
Between the wheels and the Pedder system, I might swear off my womanizing and start humping my car full time! :)
Has anyone else made this work yet?

NVR2FST 05-20-2008, 01:30 PM I think there is someone (at least one) running 20x10's. That's what I wanted, but couldn't get the offset right on the wheels I wanted...ended up with 19x9.5's with 285's. Post some pics when it's done!
Atlas 05-20-2008, 02:10 PM if you can get some 20x10's, i know of a DR that will fit it...

These are a 45 offset..... crossing my fingers it works without having to roll the fender.
Mr. Sandog 05-20-2008, 04:16 PM With a 10" rim you should really be looking at a 50-55mm offset.
Russo 05-20-2008, 04:22 PM i got some Volk wheels that are 18x9 and 18x10s that sound like they'll work ;) of course the bolt pattern isn't correct, lol
GEE ATE 05-20-2008, 07:31 PM After installing my Pedders Track 2 this week I think just about everyone will have to roll the fenders if the G8 is lowered. I have the Breyton 20" x 8.5 and once you lower the car forget about it...must roll fenders. I running 245/30/20's.
GTXgp 05-20-2008, 07:42 PM Are you having rubbing issues with your combo?
According to my calculations, my 10" with 45 offset and 285 will stick out 0.4" more than your 8.5" with 35 offset and 245.
GeoffA 05-20-2008, 07:48 PM Yeah here are G8er's (http://www.g8board.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1887) 20x10

Wheels are Zenetti Legend. 20 X 10 rears and 20 X 8.5 front. Off set +40 front and +38 on rear.
Be very careful with wheel selection as not all will work due to the caliper clearance. Looks like only wheels that flare out are best bet.
those are his specs...
GEE ATE 05-20-2008, 08:08 PM once you lower your G8 i have no doubt you will have a rub. With just me in the car, tires would not rub when lowered. But with two passengers in back and trunk full of stuff--->RUB. Also even with just me in the car you could just fit a sheet of paper between the tire and the fender...for safety sake and to prevent damage to tires and rim a fender roll was a necessary evil. If you do not ower your G8 fitment may be OK but there always seems to be a large gap between the top of tire and the fender well creating an unbalanced, awkward look.

If that is what he is running then I would have .3" more fender clearance with a 45 offset. I'm sure the rear will need to be rolled, but it should look pretty sweet! :driving:
GEE ATE 05-20-2008, 08:46 PM Roll um if you got um! Good luck with the fitment please post pics when done!
GTXgp 05-20-2008, 09:36 PM You know it ;)

Dayzed50 05-21-2008, 03:13 AM got my 20x8.5's and 20x10's showing up on thur or fri. fronts are 40mm (or 42mm, it escapes me now) and rears are 45mm w/285/30's. I'll let you guys know how they fit and post some pics. hopefully they'll leave me enough room to lower it eventually, guess I won't know till I try it. wish me luck!

Sure looks like it will rub to me.
I wanna see a pic of the inside tire clearance on the rear. How much compression suspension travel do these cars have stock, before hitting the bump stops.
You only have to ride in a car one time that rubs its tire to realize thats not what you want.

I agree, tire-rub sucks. But, there is only one way to find out if it will still rub when lowered with a 285. If it rubs, we may go down to a 275.

Exactly. :slap:
If there's enough room to increase the offset, then that is the way to go: 50mm to 55mm offset to eliminate any chance of rubbing.
GTXgp 05-21-2008, 11:34 AM FINDING a 50 to 55mm 20x10 is quite the trick. Worst case, we can always shave 5mm off the 45mm offset to get it to 50mm. First we'll roll the fenders and see where it sits after that. I have some experience getting a car to tuck ;)

Damm that is low. Anybody got a feeler gauge handy.

Makes much more sense to get custom wheels made with the correct offset. I understand there is plenty of room between the inside of the suspension and the inside surface of the tire.

I agree 100% In fact, on the red car those were custom made Billet wheels that I had designed to tuck properly ...however, I am limited on time between 2 big shows that are coming up in the next 2-3wks that I need to have the car ready for. So, we'll just make them work.
Oh, and one more TUCK:

Only car I've come close to humping, was an original "Elinor" Shelby, that just happened to park next to me at a restaurant, after a big car show. :)
With tons of back seat space, why not kill two birds with one stone? LOL. She doesn't need to know you're thinking of the car the entire time.

Except she might get offended when I want to lay down a tarp on the back seat so the leather doesn't get stained :boink:
HokieSean24 05-22-2008, 02:42 PM Needs a drop- then it should look pretty good. When you drop it the camber will pull the tops of the tires in a little, helping it clear if its tight.

GeoffA 05-26-2008, 01:55 PM Looks great!!
the pedders track II installed is a nice drop. Could you go lower in the front?
GTXgp 05-26-2008, 04:41 PM There is room to go lower, but it sits pretty level as is.
G8GT594 05-26-2008, 10:21 PM Looks awesome adam! Do you think you can get a direct center shot of the back? I want to see this bitch's ass!
Dayzed50 05-26-2008, 11:18 PM looks great. this really is a winning setup for these cars, the look and fit is hard to beat. hope you enjoy 'em

It might be a few days, but I'll get it for ya.
G8JOCK 05-27-2008, 10:02 PM Hello all. New to forum. Just took time to register. I enjoy the knowledge base here. Absolutely the best source on G8 anywhere! I have 8.5 x 20 +42 fronts and 10 x 20 +45 rears with good clearance and no rub.
G8addict 06-03-2008, 01:20 PM Adam,
Lookin good man!

locrzng888 06-03-2008, 08:02 PM Looks close in the back. My only complaint with the pedders is that it appears it lowers the rear more then the front. Are there other combos available to bring the tires front and rear to the same position in the wheel well. It just looks like its lower in the rear. Maybe its just me. I love the wheels, but, man its tight in the rear. How does it handle? Probably hugs the corners like a magnet. What was the drop in inches?
It really does look Awsome. I can't wait to get mine done, but, waiting on the eibach. I've had very good luck with their springs. Pedders is obviously a very competitive company, their stuff looks well designed.
Mr. Sandog 06-03-2008, 08:42 PM I don't know guys, the rear wheels and tires on both of these cars look like they stick out too far, to me:

What is the offset on these wheels?
GTXgp 06-03-2008, 10:40 PM Mine are 45 rear
locrzng888 06-04-2008, 02:10 PM Thanks, I'm partial to the red and I'm actually starting to like the attitude, but, still think I would like a little higher in rear and lower in front. Bet it looks bad ass going down the road. Good job.
ewoodard 07-12-2008, 07:24 PM What are the wheels on the silver car, anyone know?
SS Enforcer 07-12-2008, 07:54 PM What are the wheels on the silver car, anyone know?
They are a DTM wheel available in Australia, I suspect they are available in Nth America as well. A guy from work has these on his Ve as well.
cheers
