: New Exhaust For G8 Coming Soon
AOCAS-NY 05-20-2008, 09:22 PM This is an email response I received from Corsa after inquiring about an exhaust system for the G8.[/B]Hello and thank you for the interest.
SEE BELOW:
Now that the vehicle is stateside, we do have intentions of releasing a specific exhaust kit/kits for this application.
In fact, we have started development, however at the moment are waiting to finalize systems currently being worked on from late last year.
I have taken the liberty of adding your information to our files and will be sure to follow up once we have a more definite timeframe.
Realistically, we are hoping to have systems available by the 3rd quarter of this year.
More to come, and thank you for the interest!
Sincerely,
PAUL SANTIAGO

G8GT594 05-20-2008, 09:24 PM Hell ya. Glad to see Corsa getting into the G8 market. I guess ill hold off on just swaping out the muffler after all.
VENOM 05-20-2008, 09:32 PM I love the way corsa looks. they make the nicest exhaust tips hands down. only thing is they are fairly expensive. i hope they are not like $900 like they were for Trans Ams

I'd imagine they'd be more. There is more to a G8 exhaust than an F-body's.
Mike P 05-20-2008, 11:29 PM I'm leaning toward getting the Magnaflow cat back exhaust system vs. waiting for the Corsa cat back system to come out.
Magnaflow's system has got to be way better than the stock system.
Is Corsa's going to flow that much better than Magnaflow's? Corsa systems are pretty much the best, but I'm kind of wanting an exhaust sooner rather than later......
comments?..........
I'm definitely getting Kooks Headers when they come out......:)

I want it bad too but, I need to know if there is going to be any drone or resonance. What are the HP, fuel, & torque gains.
Yesterday Mangnaflows site show 9 kits and today only 3. So, who ever gets one installed PLEASE post vids in and out of your G8.
VENOM 05-21-2008, 08:48 PM i just hope it doesnt cost an arm and a leg

Forget about any product from OZ (they have a lot of cool stuff) but, you get hammered on shipping alone, its outrageous.:judge:

Trust me its worth the wait. Corsa systems have the best sounds with little or no drone.

To each his own; I've always thought Corsa exhausts kinda sounded tinny.
And don't even try F/I with a Corsa. :monkee:
VENOM 05-22-2008, 08:43 PM Yes, Corsa does have a tinny sound, but they do make the best looking exhaust and tips. The Corsa system for the LS1's were amazing looking and the tips were amazing in themselves

For what they charge, their tips better look good.
subscribing. . . waiting for Borla and Corsa's systems to come out before buying an exhaust. For me, my decision is going to be based 100% on sound quality and limited drone. I can't stand how quiet the car is!!!!!!!
The Magnaflow system sounds pretty good, and the price is excellent IMO. Still want to hear the other systems before buying though.
VENOM 05-23-2008, 01:24 PM ^ I agree completely. The sound on this car just doesnt do it. i want people to know im comin in a V8. at idle i want to hear it rumbling, not sound like a civic hybrid. i think borla makes high quality exhausts that sound very good. always liked borla

Your absolutely right, To each is own. I prefer Corsa exhaust because to me it sounds alot clearer than most exhaust ive heard. Some of them sound loud & sloppy.
Corsa man thru and thru, have had them on every Corvette I have owned. Definitely going on my G8 GT. Be patient, it will be worth the wait!

True, the shipping may be expensive, but you have to admit that VAREX system is pretty sweet. I want my car to sound like a V8 when it's sitting on the line and when I hit the accelerator. That being said, when I'm cruising at highway speed I'd like to be somewhat quiet. I think that's one thing they did right with this car in how quiet it really is inside the cabin when going down the road.
Out of curiosity, anyone know how loud the Magnaflow system is or how loud Corsa systems typically are when cruising down the highway?
Mike P 05-24-2008, 02:17 AM The Magnaflow system has the exact same decible level as the stock exhaust system at highway cruising speeds. 60 - 70 mph.....

Well, Corsa's system for the Charger R/T is $1,499. :eek2: I'd imagine the G8 system will be in that ballpark. :whine:

That's what I'm talking about - Corsa's prices are just stupid.

Anyone who's ever had a Corsa system and then added a supercharger later has said it has sounded awful. I've heard clips and I agree.
