: Activating the Auto Climate function?
SRG963 05-21-2008, 06:03 AM Edit: It works perfectly now.
Origional post:
I had a loose battery cable which locked up my car completely. I fixed that problem but my auto climate isn't turning on when I remote start my car now.
I think I've hit all the buttons there are on the HVAC, and still can't get it to work.
How do you turn it on?
Thanks for the help.

I did the same thing. It's the one on the right.

There is actually a button to turn the system off completely. It's in the lower right corner.

SRG963 05-21-2008, 06:34 AM Yes, I know this guys :). I've hit the auto, it says auto, but it doesn't turn on with my remote start. Is there another setting somewhere? Or am I just missing something? I hate to goto the dealership for something this lame.
izayn 05-21-2008, 07:05 AM When you remote start. the climate system goes in to auto but the screen will not be on. It regulates the car temp based on the temperature outside.
Are you saying when you remote started the car the screen was on?
1992B4C 05-21-2008, 07:27 AM Maybe its in the customize settings. Go in there and check it out.

No air moving threw the HVAC when remote started. Once I stick my key in, then the air sets to what I had previsouly.
I've looked threw the DIC and cant find anything.
I'll try again at lunch. Maybe it was 73 outside, and it didn't need to turn on?
SRG963 05-21-2008, 02:31 PM It must have been 73 degrees this morning exactly. That's the only thing I can think of, because it's working perfectly now.
HardEight 05-21-2008, 03:46 PM Not trying to be a jerk or anything but I am just curious. If its 73 degrees outside, why are you using the remote start anyway?

Why have something and not use it :wink2:
G8 Lover 05-21-2008, 05:56 PM I like the remote start on my GP GXP 'cause I don't like to just get in and go. I like to get the oil circulating a bit before hand and would usually wait about a minute before taking off. Now I don't need to. As I'm approaching, I get this done before I'm in the car.

I am the same way. I started the car in the garage lol. I paid for it i am going to get my moneys worth. i just wish you could program or set ur options for remote start. like in winter, i would want both defoggers on, heat maxed out, and blowing at full strength with the heated seats on. That when in 10 min when i come out to my car, it isnt an ice cube
unixadm 05-22-2008, 09:11 AM I've had remote start on several of my previous vehicles. However as of late, I have not. I like the fact that when I'm finishing getting ready for work, I can reach over and fire up the car and let it idle for 2-4 minutes before I'm going anywhere. That way when I walk out in the morning, I can jump in the car and go. Plus by the time I hit the freeway, the motor is warmed up and ready to play. To me the climate control piece is just a nice plus, I'm more interested in warming the engine up, not the interior.
OVERULD 05-22-2008, 03:01 PM The default setting is 73 degrees on a remote start. It will not illuminate the display and it does not matter whether you leave the AC system turned on or off when you last shut the car down. If you use remote start, it automatically starts the climate control system at 73 degrees. When you then insert the key and turn it to the Run position the climate system shuts down and reverts back to setting at the last time the ignition was turned off. It it was on and set for 69 degrees that is what it will revert back to. If it was off, that is what it will revert back to. It has nothing to do with the outside air temperature.
