jessy102386 05-21-2008, 07:42 PM While I was driving I heard this really bad scrapping sound. I turned off the radio and sure enough it was coming from my car. I went and got my husband and he said that it was the breaks sticking. I am going to have to take it to the dealer. Does anybody know what could be causing this? Is it front or rear? Is it all the time or does it dissapear when you touch the brake pedal? Maybe you have a small pebble caught in the caliper. The dealer will find the problem.... Zaphod B 05-22-2008, 10:35 AM Hey, Jessy - was this happening while you were just backing out of the driveway, or had it been a persistent noise while driving on the road? The brake rotors on these cars are cast iron, and if it rains while you are parked the rotors will rust over lightly. The first time you use the brakes you will hear a different sort of light scraping sound as the rust clears the rotors but it will go away quickly. It would be very unusual for a brand new car to have sticking brake calipers although I supposed anything is possible. racerx 05-22-2008, 05:48 PM Might have just got a pebble stuck between the rotor and brake pad. So i am saying that there was just a pebble. Thanks for the input. breaks = brakes my computer did that and i didn't catch it until now. | ||
