Ok guys went to exhaust place had exhaust done with straight pipes original mufflers. There is no drone in car and the only time they really even make sound is when you rev the car from a stand still not while moving. So my next objective is to get a set of mufflers I saw the pype bolt up ones but no one has tried them on a 6 and I don't know how they will sound..........
So any suggestions let me know please and one try mufflers let us know thanks

I have Borla turbo mufflers and they sound good, they're nice and deep yet not too loud. Corsa DB reds are also good sounding mufflers, plus they don't produce any drone but they are expensive.

Oflats,
If you haven't read my thread on the Magnaflow system, take a look as it will give you some insight to the exhaust system.
using an exhaust system made for the V8 won't necesarily work because of the difference in exhaust pulses. The original Magnaflow mufflers I had were similar to the V8 ones yet sounded crappy on the V6. Magnaflow had to design a different muffler for the V6 and it sounded great. Only down side was the drone at 1500 RPM's in 5th gear.
If you haven't heard the drone yet, try this test and see if it's really gone or not. Find a fairly straight and level road, bring the car up to around 50 MPH, and cruise in 5th gear. You should be running around 1500 RPM's. Listen closely to the sound and slowley increase your speed. Basically your trying to keep the car at 50 - 55 MPH. See then if you have any drone.
To tell if it's gone or not, you can manually downshift to 4th and see if the pitch changes. That's a true test of what the drone is like. In the magnaflow system, at 1500 RPM's it was so bad you could barley hold a conversation in the car.
