Hey Marauder -- What's up?

Thinking it will be soon that we'll have to put together another gathering. Will most likely be south -- Castle Rock/Springs area.

Take it easy -- Hope all is going well -- keep us updated on the family!

Nah I didn't get the T/A. Needed way more work in the interior than I have the time/money to do. Oh well there will be others I hope. Family is good, Carrie is ready to not be pregnant anymore. We have a soccer game in the Springs tomorrow. I will wave as I fly through Castle Rock!

Too bad on the T/A -- our '01 convert is for sale...I know, a bit different -- oh well, you can't blame me for trying.

Glad everyone is well -- I completely understand the not wanting to be pregnant anymore feeling...

As you're going to the Springs, We'll be heading toward Windsor for a baseball game...Good Luck! See ya all soon -- be looking for an e-mail regarding the racing season. Should be coming soon!

I am greatful for my all weather RSAs, they aren't the stickiest tires in the world, but they get the job done in the snow.

I am just glad that one day of the weekend was nice. Took the GXP out, it took the trip to Winsor. Saw 105 on the speed-o & the kiddos in the back didn't even flinch -- Man, I love that car.

So much that I went to Johnson Auto Plaza in the afternoon to inquire about the G8 they have on the lot. Got there & had to laugh at the sales folks... Albeit the car is still new, only 91 miles on the Odometer -- thay are asking $26,995 and it's the V6 version.

Needless to say, not what I wanted, so I test drove the 2010 Camaro SS2 instead. It's nice, but not for a family. Especially one with a teenager....there was no room in the back seat AT ALL.

I would think that would be a bonus. :

You're too funny Tweaky! Very true though! But, if we didn't want the kids, we'd get a Z06. Johnson has a black one on the lot, and they said they'd take $15,000 off...But I passed.

I want another G8, a PSM or IOM GT. They are roomy & have plenty of power.

My folks helped me get an 81 Firebird for my first car since it didn't have much of a backseat.

Good thinking -- My son turns 15 on April 1st & we are looking for the 1st Daily Driver. (he already has a '70 Monte Carlo, but wont be driving it everyday). I like that no room for passangers thought....We'll see.

See y'all soon -- possibly tomorrow...Racing club meeting. If you want more info, PM me.

I got a 2000 olds minivan that needs a lil work for sale...be a sweet ride for him...no street racing that sucker

Both my kids (son/daughter) got driver training like I did... We ran the wheels off the car(s) through the learner's permit months. Literally like 5K miles. Cross country, downtown city, mountains, snow storms. Sliding/spinning/brake thresholding practice on dirt and pavement parking lots. The only thing that makes a skilled driver is seat time. Both followed in Dad's footsteps with high performance cars from the gitgo. First cars were son with a modified turbo Daytona and daughter with a Turbo/AWD Eclipse.

My son is now 26 and a talented SCCA racer, my daughter is 25. Both love to drive and neither has ever had an accident and neither will own a car with an automatic.

Hit the road!

Too cool. I hope we have the same luck. We are a 1/4 mile track family. Spend quite a bit of time at Bandimere. He talks a big talk, we'll see in a year if he can walk the walk.

He wants to follow in Dad's footsteps -- Grand Prix GTP -- 3800 supercharged. We'll have to see. He is thinking of selling the '70 Monte Carlo, and buying at GTP. Again, we'll see....Come Friday (barring he passes all the tests at the Driver's Ed class -- so much for spring break!!), I am sure I will have lots of time in the passanger's seat. Still makes me feel old -- nervous, and old!!! Wish us luck!

Bandimere is a great time, and yes anyone can do it (check out www.Bandimere.com). They run Test and Tune nights, as well as Bracket Racing days on the weekends. Its a ton of fun and it does not matter how fast your car is....there will always be faster cars and there will always be slower cars.

jlasti

I know a few of you on here do Bandamere, can anyone do that? Is it a run what ya brung kind of deal? And will my little V6 get laughed off the track?

Hey -- Nice to hear from you. It's been a while. I am dying to see your car! I have yet to see the IOM in person. -- and sorry about the ordeal at Johnson. At least you still have an awesome car!

Bandimere is open to anybody. If you have a driver's license (and Minor release form if you're under 18) you can race down the track. Pretty much everything is Bracket racing when you are talking competition. Which basically means you have to predict what your car will run (time wise) in the 1/4 mile, write that number on your window during competition rounds (your dial-in). You can not run faster than that time. If you do, you loose. So, if you dial in with a 16.0 and the person you race dials in at 14.0, you will get a 2 second head start. If all is perfect, you should both reach the finish line at the exact same time -- doesn't happen...

It is all about knowing your car, having it be consistant, and getting a good reaction time.

At all competitions, you are given the opportunity to have usually at least 2 practice runs prior to the elimination rounds.

At the test & Tune events, everything is heads up, and you can make as many runs down that track as you want - no eliminations, no dial ins necessary.

Hope that answers the questions. If you have more, let me know -- update here or you can PM me with contact info.

We have a few people from our race club that are going to the test & tune event at Bandimere on April 18th. Come on down if you can. If you want to be added to the e-mail list, let me know, all I need is the e-mail address.

Until later! Have a great day & enjoy the beautiful Colorado weather!

Very true -- Sorry, didn't see this post until after I replied. Which car do you usually run? Looks like you have some fun ones to choose from!

Yeah, that's where I went before I settled on my IOM. I had to leave because the sales manager and I got into a yelling match. It wasn't pretty and I am pretty sure we would have started throwing punches if my buddy hadn't pulled me out of the little negotiating room. Which was good because I am a small guy and he definitely had the weight advantage on me.

I know a few of you on here do Bandamere, can anyone do that? Is it a run what ya brung kind of deal? And will my little V6 get laughed off the track?

welcome 66cat389...
Bandi should be good times...so what if other cars are faster than you...a lil less power makes you consistent...and that wins in bracket racing...'98 Olds minivan used to rule the dragstrip I used to go to...dude always ran the same time...some of us hang on GMvsWORLD.com itz a relatively new website and is pretty much a Metro area gathering..hope to see ya around!

Hi all -- Hope all is going well with the families! Will be at bandimere this Sunday! If the air is right, I am thinking that we will see at least one (hopefully more) stock GXP in 13s.

Let me know if you're gona make it.

Hope all is going OK for those expectant moms! Keep us posted on any updates.

Carrie is good, tired of being pregnant and working full time. We are about 6 weeks out right now. We finished the babies room over the week. I am still hunting a project car. I have an eye on a 1980 Firebird here in Aurora. It has the 301 in it, but it looks like the car I had in high school.

Also I don't think I will make it to Bandi this weekend. I have to go to my sister-in-laws birthday.

Maybe next time!

Cool -- We'll miss you Sunday.

There is a 91 Camaro RS on GM v World. Not sure if that would interest you -- I may look at it also for the kiddo.

Good luck in the final 6 weeks. Tell Carrie to Not work too hard.....
