: Worlds First VE A6 to run 11s NA
oztrack 05-22-2008, 11:17 AM A VE SS in Australia with a stock converter in a A6 broke into the 11s last night at WSID in Sydney with a 11.867s pass @ 118.71 mph.
It raced with full exhaust and just had the 4 wheels changed as well as jack spare removed. Race weight was 3925lb with driver.
The car has had all its mechanical work done at Winmalee Car Care in the lower Blue Mountains near Sydney and is Tuned with EFILive Flashscan by Oztrack Tuning.
Its mods include:

oztrack 05-22-2008, 11:23 AM The weather conditions were 53 deg F and 30.2 Barometer. DA was -655 feet.
So nice conditions to set a time BUT the track was slippery after the first 60 feet otherwise the time may have made it under 11.80.
The car has made 435rwhp on a dynodynamics dyno and would probably make about 480rwhp on a dynojet
Rayvan 05-22-2008, 11:29 AM The list of mods didn't seem to make into your first post! :)

3.45 diff (waste of time - will be quicker with 2.92s back in)
Race weight 3925lb with driver.
Rayvan 05-22-2008, 12:31 PM Very nice results!
Why do you think it'd be quicker with the 2.92 gear ratio?
Red-Rocket 05-22-2008, 01:09 PM :driving:
WTG mate! Super impressed by the stock stall convertor.
Hmmmm I need to work some more OT before they put me on salary.
Can you give us a bit more info on the cats? Are OZ and US cats completely different or will the metal cats bolt up to US G8s?
Mike @ New Era 05-22-2008, 08:41 PM Nice times , any suspension mods ?
SS Enforcer 06-14-2008, 09:06 AM Nice times , any suspension mods ?

Nice run ...
Does your cars have the AFM / DOD??
Saw that you have a Nice cam in there...No one I have heard of in the States have put a cam in our G8s yet...
Very nice results!

Also curious...I was thinking gears would be getting it to rev and down the track quicker...do you think the same would be for 3.73s in the rear?
SS Enforcer 06-16-2008, 11:52 AM No Dod or afm in this motor.
Regarding the gears it's just an extra gearshift the car has to do. It allready is low geared with the 2.92's considering the box ratios.
Another car here in oz with the same mods as mine put 3.45's in his as well for no improvement at all on the 1/4 like mine.
cheers
Mike @ New Era 06-16-2008, 09:13 PM What gear does the car cross the traps in ?
SS Enforcer 06-20-2008, 10:10 PM What gear does the car cross the traps in ?
It's 6100 in 4th gear now Mike before it was 6700 in 3rd gear.
Theres a delay on the stallie but with some extra revs the 3.45's may have to stay in it as I don't want to trap at 7k in 3rd.
cheers
paul6t4 06-21-2008, 03:14 PM It could have done an 11.4 if he wasnt asleep at the tree! .795 r/t!
GRRRR8 06-21-2008, 03:27 PM Like I said with the right combo it can be done and is being done! I just wish I had a 53 degree night when I ran the 12.7. It would have easily gone in the 45-55s. Charlie
SS Enforcer 06-21-2008, 05:55 PM What gear does the car cross the traps in ?
4th now

Okay I run 255 x 50 x 16 Hoosier drag Radials which are 2.4% smaller than the stock 18" rubber.
I thought I should clear that up
cheers
SS Enforcer 06-21-2008, 05:57 PM It could have done an 11.4 if he wasnt asleep at the tree! .795 r/t!
R/T doesn't affect trap speed or ET .
cheers
