Anyone know what the invoice - not MSRP - price of the sports package is?

My dads long time friend who is a car salemen for pontiac dealership told me all the invoice prices on the accessories and packages. The sun roof for $900? Invoice to dealer was $710. $600 sport package? $500 dollars. And the premium cost the dealer around $1,000. Not much markup in terms of options and pricing which is why dealers are not budging a whole lot on price of the car.

According to Edmunds.com:

Item..............MSRP...............Invoice
G8 GT..........$29310..............$27,845
Premium.........$1250.................$1038
Sports.............$600..................$498
Sunroof...........$900...................$747
All-season........$150...................$125
Destination.......$685...................$685
----------------------------------------
Total..............$32895..............$30938

Less than two grand to play with on a loaded one. I doubt we'll be seeing too many of these go for big discounts, ever.

Thanks for that. Knowledge is power here... the more aces I have up my sleeve this weekend, the better. Even if they are minor ones :).
I'll get my GT for no more than $30.5K selling price, probably $31.5K out the door. Not a huge savings, but I refuse to pay MSRP.
Dealer will still make 4% profit with that offer on the table. This GT has been sitting here for 6 weeks now.

Wow, I'm surprised it's been sitting there that long. All of the GT's in my area seem to go pretty quick. The only one that I've seen that hasn't sold within the first week of being on the lot is a Stealth Blue one with the premium and sports package. I guess not too many people in this area are impressed with that blue color that looks more like a periwinkle to me.

Case in point, I bought my car not even an hour after it rolled off the truck. I was trying to make a deal with one dealership and he was giving me the run around so I went and found some place that actually had the car I wanted. Or at least the vehicle tracker said it was there. They said it had just came off the truck half an hour before I called. When I showed up, it still had the brake covers on, all the seat covers, and a few of the exterior protective pieces of plastic.

Good luck getting it for less than MSRP, it's possible, but rare with this car as they're going so fast.

I've seen some sitting here for at least a month now. They are not moving as fast as some people think they are and as fast as some dealers want you to believe they are.

Are they GTs or Base V6s? The V6s aren't really moving anywhere from all reports. If the GTs aren't moving on LI, well, it is LI afterall!:wink2:

They are GT's. I've stopped at 6 different dealerships. What a bunch of chumps....the whole lot of them. :judge:

The guy I've bought my last two Denali's from doesn't have any and doubts he's getting anymore. This has really been a bull$hit buying experience so far. I'm gonna wait these bastards out. Theres's NO way I'm paying over MSRP.

Are they asking over MSRP? Seems strange, even for LI, that the GTs would not be sold there! Spent some time out in the Hamptons while in the Coast Guard and don't remember the people of LI being that slow on the uptake on hot cars. Were quite a few around when I was there in the mid-late 80's. Guess times change?:sneaky:

Drove a white hot GT today, owners demo with 2100 miles on it. the steering wheel paint is already peeling. I was gonna offer them 29500, then saw the wheel and figured I would try 29000. the price I was quoted before driving was 31295 or so with 1K loyalty and the supplier price. It had a roof and premium package. I just drove it and left, still can't make up my mind between this and an 07 300C. I really like the GT, but saving somewhere around 9K makes that 300 look awful good.

I just bought my gt last nite, 5/21, at fc kerbeck in south jersey. They paid off my remaining lease payments ($3000) and gave me $1000 of msrp. paid $30,395 for a gt in orange with premium and sports package. They had 6 g8's on the lot and believe 4 were gt's.

ew, please dont buy a 300. Those things look like giant boxes. and the gas mileage is that of a dump truck. go find a nice G8 that doesnt have 2,000 miles on it. No one should have to pay over MSRP for this car. You got to deal with these guys and throw numbers around. They are startin to do same thing they did with GTO. Charge over MSRP and not budge. Guess what? Car went down the crapper.

All but one dealer was asking for OVER the MSRP. The one that was asking for MSRP had 4 GT's on the lot but none with the sport package, otherwise this would have been a done deal.

You must have been stationed at Shinne**** then. I live in Westhampton. All the dealers were in central & western Suffolk and even one on Nassau.

EDIT: Word filter didn't allow me to post the word of the golf course that hosts the U.S. Open. WTF!?!

Strange about those GTs. But like you said, without the options most people want, they will hang around longer. Of course the dumb ass that has them priced over MSRP will have them longer, or until he wises up!

Yep, stationed at Station/Group Shinne****, then they moved the Group office to Moriches and spent about a year there until I made Warrant Officer and left for Hawaii. We lived at the Coast Guard Housing at Westhampton Beach, across the highway from the airport. Some fun times there, played a lot of slow pitch softball there. Interesting area, rich, poor and everything in between!:patriot:

My local dealer Arrow Pontiac has had a red GT in stock for well over a month and it hasn't budged. They still list a $3K markup on the vehicle.

BTW - the fact that gas prices are going up 10-15 cents a week can't be helping sales of any vehicle
