I looked to see if the spare was a donut or full size and all I found was a frig'n air compressor. Is anyone else annoyed by this? Call me old fashioned but I want a spare not some b.s. compressor or "road side assistance" and I still cant find the 11 speakers, only 9!!

Did you buy your car without doing any research?

here is what someone explained. dont know for sure tho.

4 in the rear doors - coax, so they count the tweeter as a seperate speaker, which is a little bs

Like Boomer said, they count those as two speakers. Kind of misleading if you ask me. If that's the way they want to count speakers then my old Grand Am has 13!

Anyway, as for the spare, the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tires are RFT's (Run-flat tires) so you don't need a spare unless you really, REALLY tear up the tire.

I'm considering getting a steel rim and full size tire for a spare just in case that were to happen though. There's definitely room in that spare well for a full size spare.

Yep, the GT's do not come with a spare. Go figure.

I bought a full-size spare from Tire Rack online (not the OEM wheel), a friend gave me a scissor jack from a Subaru station wagon that he sold, and I bought a breaker bar and lug nut sockets, and it's all nice and snug in that enormous spare tire well.

Not all RE050A-s are runflats.

And I do not recall reading anywhere else that

I thought they were, but I've been wrong before. Thanks for pointing it out and I'll check into it myself. Makes me want to have a spare tire even more now.

Neither the 18's nor the 19's are run-flat.

I'd feel a little better with a real spare, but in reality, my old Pontiac is 19 yrs. old, and I've never had the spare out of the car. I've never needed it. The one time I needed a spare *anything* for that car, I would have loved to have a spare alternator! :)

I'll probably go the full-sized spare route down the road. Tucson has a lot of construction crap on its roads.

Case-in-point, within a week of moving there I had to buy a new tire for my truck because I picked up a 1.5" triangle of sheetmetal. Now I've picked up a nail that I need to pull out and plug eventually. Those tires had been on my truck for 36,000mi in NC and NY with no issues. Now within 4 months two of them have been damaged, with one of those being so bad as to be unrepairable.

It really ticks me off because there's still a lot of tread left. Those were some awesome tires for being original equipment.

I've had a couple of flat tires in my day and neither one of them were a fun experience. The first was my '91 Oldsmobile Cutlass and I sat on the side of the road in the rain for two hours before a State Trooper finally stopped to help. The socket on my lug wrench ended up getting rounded out because it was a big piece of crap. The second time was in my '99 Pontiac Grand Am. I hit a pothole and caught the rim on the edge of the pothole and it actually split the rim. Had an 8" long, 1/4" wide crack. Rim ended up costing me about $325 to get a new (used) one.
