:driving: Got the 20"s all mounted on. 20x8.5" fronts with 245/35's and 20x10" rears with 285/30's. front offset is either 40 or 42mm and the rears are 45mm.
First impression is pretty good, the ride quality didn't take too big a hit and the harshness is still in your comfort zone. Full turn to full turn no probs up front, but *there is a slight rub in the rear*, both sides. It was under a sizeable load, probably about 600lbs extra incl. driver, but under the gross vehicle. Not exactly what I had in mind but no prob, it is slight at best. Just enough to smear the tire dressing to let you know where the contact is. A small fenderwell role should suffice, no big deal. I'll let you guys know how it goes.
Though a little disappointed by the rub overall I think it's the setup to be had. The wheels aren't the exact style I was going for but were available in the sizes and offsets I needed (or least close enough). I'm thinkin the black inserts are what sold me on these wheels.
Here's some shots so you guys can check out the fit

What brand/model are they? They look good. My new wheels showed up today but too late for me to try and get the tires swapped over to the new wheels. I'll post up pics/info once I get them on.

got almost the same wheels 20x8.5 40 offset front with 245/35 and 20x10 40 offset rear with 285/30 no rubbing anywhere 45 offset in rear is too much

I'd like to see a picture from the rear along the side so we can see the wheel and tire in relation to the wheel well.

with a 40mm offset in the rear it should stick out even further causing a worse rub condition from what I've read. have you loaded the car with passengers and driven it aggressively to test it's limits?
With only myself in my car I cannot get it to rub, even under hard cornering. With a 200lb passenger, and my stock 18"s with tires loaded in the trunk and backseat I got a slight rub under hard cornering and sizeable dips at freeway speeds.
I would say an overall safe bet would be a 50mm offset on a 20x10" rear, as there is just enough room on the inside of the tires to fit and will clear the fenderwell lip. I would be amazed if a 40mm on a true 10" wheel loaded with passengers yields no rubbing, and if it doesn't consider yourself lucky. Could just be tolerance/design differences in manufactors' wheel designs, but that would make it a crapshoot to buy wheels from specs alone... scary if true.

they are made by Zinik, model Sofin chrome w/black inserts. they can be bought thru tirerack though I purchased mine from discount tires, for a reasonable price. they are also available in black w/chrome inserts, which I had a hard time deciding between the two.

I don't know if it rubs when I drive it aggressively or not but I bought mine for my wife and I not so I could load it up like a bus and drive all crazy if it rubs I'll just get the fenders rolled or cut its no BFD

hey if it doesn't rub under your normal driving conditions then right on, maybe no need to mess with it. I would just hate to see anybody load up a few friends one day and end up running into problems a few miles up the road.

also, I spent the afternoon working the rear fender lips on the G8 and I'm happy to say that with fairly minimal rolling I can no longer get it to rub at all. it was a piece of cake, though now I need to get to the dealer for some touch up paint as the paint always seems to crack when you work the metal around like that.

New to forum. Hello all! Like your wheels Dayzed. I have the same set up. (Zinik z 27)
The fronts are 42 offset and rears 45 as you stated. I am getting no rub at all.
