OH my god, what a pain in the ass!!! I used the wiring diagram from a previous post to find out what wires to use from the harness in the trunk mounted amp for the subs.
everything worked great, then one channel went out when I crimped all the final fittings in.then the other.so i started over, and it worked fine, then both channels stopped for no reason.
So I isolated everything.wired it one at a time and discovered that it would work without the left ground wire????what the hell?
the set up was this: MTX re-q(accepts hot, ground, remote in,remote out to amp,and all 4 speaker leads-2pos,2 neg)
I thought that maybe the remote wire should have a seperate in from a switched source,so I removed it from a spare speaker+ lead(works on minimal current sensing)and the speakers worked great.problem was,the hot i used stayed on all the time.so I took the remote wire off to find a better place to switch my MTX and amp and.....
the **** stayed on!!!! Now it turns on and off from the radio power and actually has NO REMOTE WIRE CONNECTED.
apparantly the MTX re-q ,contrary to the instuctions, does not need it and will turn on using current sensing from the speaker inputs...

Well fuk me?!4 hours later,a 45 min job is done...10 lbs of sweat equity
